Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady set for Sunday interview with Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are working their schedule for next week once the NFL’s rules allow in-person interviews starting Monday. They are not complete with their virtual meetings, however, as a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero indicated on Saturday morning. Appearing on NFL Gameday Morning, Pelissero updated the Dolphins head coaching search, listing Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as the “frontrunner” for the role. While focusing on Hafley in the segment, Pelissero added that the Dolphins will hold a virtual interview on Sunday with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

Brady took over as the Bills’ interim offensive coordinator during the 2023 season, replacing Ken Dorsey when he was fired after a 5-5 start to the year. He dropped the interim title heading into 2024 season and has held the position since. Prior to assuming that role, he was the Bills quarterbacks coach starting in 2022.

He was the Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator in 2020 and 2021. He was the LSU passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2019 after working as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints in 2017 and 2018. He was a graduate assistant at Penn State the two years previous and starting his coaching career at William & Mary as the linebackers coach in 2013 and 2014.

Born in Hollywood, Florida, Brady grew up in Pembroke Pines, in the metaphorical shadows of the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium.

If the Bills win on Saturday in their playoff game against the Denver Broncos, any interview beyond Sunday’s virtual meeting will be on hold until at least January 26, after the AFC Championship game. If Buffalo is eliminated from the postseason, it could clear the way for Brady to be added to Miami’s in-person schedule next week.
