Well -- another drug bust in MLB. Sadly the norm now for this sport. Dee Gordon is suspended for 80 games for using performance enhancing drugs, and now shines another black cloud over a sport that was supposedly cracking down even harder on athletes. What needs to be done to stop this? More importantly -- why do players keep thinking they can cheat the system?

It comes down to: Is the juice worth the squeeze?

For each player getting caught, there's probably a dozen that haven't been. Because of that, and the perceived increased in talent, they feel it's worth the risk.

It is an absolute shame. :(

For the most part, I believe Major League Baseball has done a good job cracking down on cheaters. There's always going to be people who are going to juice up. It's always been that way. Even though there's been more of a focus on it in recent years, it's always been going on. The instance of Dee Gordon just shows that you can't judge who is juicing based on only physical appearance. You just never know. Gordon is hardly an imposing figure physically.

They have done a good job but what will it take to phase it out completely, and will it ever be phased out completely?

As the MLB improves their testing, the players will improve their ability to evade the testing. Its very unfortunate but the MLB is doing the best they can do. I love seeing justice served though... :)
