In basketball, NHL, etc. What makes you think it's any different in football? Why would someone want to be a mediocre team? They're not getting a good draft pick, they're not going to get better.

To win in the rebuilding process, you have to suck.
Yeah, but like I stated before, the Colts can afford to win a game. As of now, they would, if they actually are losing on purpose, only need to keep the wins under 2. I'm sure they'd rather be known as a 1-win team than as a winless team.

Yeah, and if they go 0-16, people could start to think that they did in fact throw the season.

It's starting to get the point where teams might be playing harder against them. Who wants to be the first loss to a winless team?

Weird game, almost debunks my theory.

Bottom line is, the Colts aren't this bad. Something is going on.

I think you're over thinking it... they just weren't prepared imo.

So you're trying to tell me that a team cannot genuinely be bad enough to be winless through 12 games?

Dan Orlovsky FTW!

Definitely start him over Painter. I can't believe how close we came to beating the Pats! :D

Basically.

Jim Irsay has announced that Peyton Manning will not be back at all this season, or postseason.

He didn't even need to announce though, really. I'm think everyone knew that Peyton was done this year....

Yeah, but what really confuses me is why he announced that Peyton would be out for the postseason... :P

Well, I guess he probably didn't say that....he wouldn't be back for a postseason either though, I doubt. :P
