Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay promised changes were on the way. He began making them on Monday.

The Colts fired vice chairman Bill Polian and general manager Chris Polian, according to a league source. A move has yet to come down on coach Jim Caldwell, who is still likely to be fired after the Colts finished 2-14 in his third season.

If the coaching job in Indianapolis opens up, it will be a coveted position. Given the return of quarterback Peyton Manning and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the team will very quickly take on a different shape.

Irsay is scheduled to speak to the media at 5 p.m. ET.

They're gonna need to start rebuilding player-wise pretty soon, so Andrew Luck should be a nice start. Obviously they need to start rebuilding coaching-wise after this year.

With the return of Manning, though, I could definitely see them starting to look more like the Colts we're used to seeing. Signing Andrew Luck reminds me of the Packers signing Aaron Rodgers back in 2005.

The Colts should've been looking towards the future before this year when Manning couldn't play, guys aren't getting any younger.

I was watching sportscenter and somebody said something about the colts should be cutting Manning

Your thoughts?

Good move by the Colts. We needed to do this. Execs can't rely on a single player to make their team good, and then give up when he can't play.

this should be a surprise to nobody. they failed to prepare for what was going to happen. The Pack knew what was coming when the drafted Rodgers, he had time to learn from a legend. Luck might not be so lucky, I think Manning is done within a year or two at most. Manning won't make it the rest of his career without injuries, Luck will have to make some starts while Manning is still around.

Agreed 100%, they relied way too much on Manning for their success.

They shouldn't cut him; he's way to experienced to get rid of.
He could teach young guys how to play in the NFL.

Also, he's their leader, and has way too big of an ego to be cut.
