Childhood obesity

Once again, this belongs in the Debates. Moved there. Please post your topics in the correct board. If you aren't sure where a topic belongs, don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks. :)

I think it's mainly the parents being too lazy to do something about it. The kind of parents that would rather feed their kids disgusting McDonalds food than doing some cooking for once.

Most organic foods are disgusting. They're much healthier though, and not all of them taste bad.
I think the general reason is because of lack of exercise.

I can't move the topics or I would, almost everybody the last few days posting these topics forgets. I don't question it b/c I figure they'll be moved eventually.

I think the FDA needs to continue to tighten restrictions on food, especially fast food.

I don't like the FDA...I read a book called "Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About. It changed my views on the whole topic of health.

How are you blaming this on one fast food place? It's the combination of many unhealthy businesses combined.

Processed foods don't help either, look at the box of most frozen things. They are high in salt and other bad things. Fast food is only a small part of a big epidemic. The electronic age doesn't help either, some parents are too lazy to make their kids go do something as they sit and gain weight.

I don't blame fast food companies for making un-healthy food... It's what they do to make money. But it's the parents fault for being lazy... Whenever I'm on vacation and go out everyday, at the end of vacation, I feel like I'm gonna puke.... I wouldn't want to feel like that at home all the time... It's just a matter of lazy people and how no one's taking a conscious effort to stop this.

i eat fast food maybe once a month, to me most of its bland and plain nasty. Not to mention its so unhealthy its not funny.

I eat fast food at least five times per week, usually more.

Usually a 32 oz Dr. Pepper once a day, on the weekends usually more.

Call me fat? No way. I am 6'2" and only 150... I could use 30 more pounds if not a bit more. I just don't gain any fat. ;D

I'm the same way....

Yay for high metabolism! ;D

My brother has high metabolism. He eats fast food like once a day, and he still looks skinnier than most people his age.

Not really high metabolism.

To make my point, I have to be graphic... I dont go Number 2 as often as normal which is weird since I eat so much (just returned from McD's).

Also, I can have 4,000 calories per day just to stay the same weight for my height... And like I said, I can use 20-30 pounds, so once that happens, I am guessing I can have around 5,000 per day. ;D

I don't really eat that much which I'm kind of skinny but not really. I'm like 5'5" 115 pounds I think.

It's still best if you break those unhealthy habits though, as all those things are liable to catch up to you eventually.

I'm one of the skinnier kids at my school.. I eat a lot, but I am constantly exercising and stuff. That is the real problem.. Kids aren't exercising nearly enough.

I thought excercising was the reason I can eat like such a fatass but than when I broke my hand I literally did almost nothing for three months and still ate fast food at least three to five times per week and didn't gain any weight.
