Kevin Garnett has agreed to waive his no-trade clause, clinching an agreement on a trade that will land Paul Pierce, Garnett and Jason Terry with the Brooklyn Nets, sources close to the process told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Thursday night.

Garnett waiving the no-trade clause was the last step to sealing the deal, sources said.

No trade between the teams can officially be consummated until July 10 -- when a league-wide moratorium on signings and trades is lifted after free agency begins Monday -- but the teams made fast progress on finalizing the trade parameters.

Brooklyn has agreed to send three first-round picks (2014, '16 and '18) along with Kris Humphries' expiring contract, Gerald Wallace, Tornike Shengelia, Reggie Evans and a sign-and-traded Keith Bogans to the Celtics for Pierce, Garnett and Terry, sources said.

Damn. The Nets are going to be stacked the next 2-3 seasons. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Brook Lopez.

I think this was a bad trade for the Celtics. I know they are rebuilding, but for the next few seasons, the Nets should be in the top five teams in the Eastern Conference. Most likely, this means the first round picks the Celtics received will be late first round picks. Out of the three first round picks they received, at best, the only decent pick will be the one in 2018, and that's assuming the Nets are in rebuilding years at that point. While Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett will all probably be retired by then, as long as they have Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, I do not seen them being a lottery team in 2018 either. I honestly do not feel like this is a good trade for the Nets either though. They want to win now, but even with this trade, they are still probably the fifth best team in the Eastern Conference.

This was a terrible trade for the Celtics I don't understand why they would want Kris Humphries or Gerald Wallace a part of their rebuilding phase.

I think they were just part of the deal for them to get the draft picks. I do not think any of the players they got are going to be part of their rebuilding phase. They got players like Gerald Wallace in the trade because Brooklyn had to clear up some cap space.
