The Laval Rocket lost 5-1 on Friday as the Rochester Americans tied their five-game series 2-2 at Place Bell. Overall, the Rocket had a poor effort in the face of a conference final berth. Roy had his best game of the series on Friday, and it’s the second game in a row I’ve written that statement. He didn’t have a perfect game; I still thought his physical presence was less than…

After dominant showing in Game 3 and a completely lacklustre effort in Game 4, the Laval Rocket found themselves in a do-or-die match on Sunday against the Rochester Americans with a trip to the Eastern Conference Final on the line. After getting played off the ice and having their tempers boil over on Friday night, the Rocket were in need of a huge response in front of their home fans.

Laval Rocket defenceman Zack Hayes only found out he was making is 2025 playoff debut the morning of Game 5 on Sunday. With an injury keeping William Trudeau out of the lineup, Hayes was called upon to replace him. The Laval Rocket put themselves into a 0-2 hole in their best-of-seven series against the Charlotte Checkers this week. Laval was outscored 10-3 through two games, and any standout individual performances weren’t enough to push the Rocket over the edge. I collected a handful of standout performances from each game. Oliver Kapanen’s line wasn’t super noticeable in the first period.
