If you have to take a picture, which one will you use? Camera or Smartphone?

I prefer camera. I hope to buy a digital camera soon.

many smartphones have cameras comparable to expensive digital cameras so i will take a smartphone for convenience sake.

I'd use a smartphone. My phone (Galaxy S4) has a 13 mega-pixel camera, so it would be a pretty decent standalone camera in the first place. Not to mention, it's always with me and a lot smaller.

Smartphones are more convienient, but most lack a sufficient zoom. If I am taking a reg picture, smartphone. If I need to zoom, camera.

I actual prefer both.
I've tweaked the settings on both and it just depends on if I have my camera with me or not.
My camera was fairly inexpensive but it's 27X zoom optical (160X zoom digital) make it a beast at times. Both record video in 1080p HD, so again it merely matters how I feel or which ever is closer.

Nowdays it's only smartphone really.

So convenient, and high quality cameras make it ideal for capturing memories at any time!!!

I don't own a camera because I think that they are pretty useless. Nowadays, smartphones has 5, 8 or more megapixels which are okay for my needs. It is more convenient and the price is much lower because cell phone have many other secondary features. The cell phone that I want to buy, the iPhone 5S has 8 megapixels so it is perfect, isn't it?

A smartphone is sometimes more than enough, but the camera has unique quality and an incredible magic for taking photos. But if I have to choose just one, clearly a mobile phone; it's much more practical and also multi-purpose.

I know that smartphones have cameras that are sophisticated. But anyone that wants to take professional photography would rather use a dedicated digital camera rather than a smartphone camera. If I have the choice to make between a pro camera and a smartphone camera to take pictures, I would go for a smartphone camera.

A camera is better as it will give you better resolution than a phone. Long gone are the days when quality was all about more megapixels.
