Chicago Bulls’ Jaden Ivey highlights silver lining after loss to Nets

The Chicago Bulls acquired Jaden Ivey before the NBA trade deadline with high hopes. The team brought in the 23-year-old guard from the Detroit Pistons to improve their play. But the trade has yet to produce wins for the struggling Bulls.

The Bulls lost 123–115 to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. It was the team’s 30th loss of the season and their fifth straight defeat. Three of those losses came after recent roster changes.

Chicago acquired Ivey in a three-team trade that also involved the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bulls sent Kevin Huerter and Dario Šarić to Detroit in exchange for Ivey and veteran guard Mike Conley Jr. The trade aimed to bring youth and energy to the Bulls’ backcourt. It paired Ivey with Anfernee Simons, Josh Giddey, and Coby White.

Ivey flashed his potential on Monday. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard scored 13 points, with six rebounds and three assists. He played aggressively on offense and defense. However, the Nets exploited Chicago’s defensive gaps, which the young Bulls are still working to correct.

Brooklyn center Nic Claxton scored a career-high 28 points, underscoring the challenges the Bulls face as they adjust to new players. With several new additions, Chicago is learning on the fly. Coaches and players continue to adjust roles and lineups during games.

Chicago Bulls’ Jaden Ivey offers honest look at team struggles and growth​

After the game, Ivey gave an honest view of the team’s struggles. He admitted that the team is going through a challenging period, but they are facing it together.

“We’re going through it,” he told reporters. “Going through it together. That’s how you learn. That’s how you grow.”

According to Ivey, improving as a team means helping each other, finding ways to win, and staying connected through communication and support on and off the court. He said that as the season progresses, the team will continue learning from each game and “make adjustments” to get better.

“That’s how you make each other better and figure ways to win the game and affect the game, communicating and talking and being there for one another,” he said.

Since joining Chicago, Ivey has appeared in three games and received significantly more playing time than he did in Detroit. In those outings, he averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

His effort stands out, but the Bulls’ ongoing losing streak shows that a single player cannot instantly turn the team around. Coach Billy Donovan agreed with Ivey. He said the team is still learning how to adjust to new players and work together.

For some Chicago fans, Ivey’s performance and mindset offer a silver lining amid a tough season.

Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan calls out new players after trades

After reshaping the backcourt with trades, Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan is putting pressure on the new guards.

The Bulls revamped their roster before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 5. They added four new guards: Jaden Ivey, Anfernee Simons, Collin Sexton and Rob Dillingham.

Ivey joined the Bulls from the Detroit Pistons, bringing speed, athleticism and strong ball-handling skills. Simons came from the Portland Trail Blazers, adding scoring experience and a quick, alert presence on the court. Sexton, traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers, is known for aggressive drives and nonstop energy, contributing on offense and defense. Dillingham, a young draft pick with potential as a versatile guard, gives the Bulls flexibility. Together, these four players form a guard-heavy backcourt.

But even with the new lineup, the Bulls are still struggling to win. They have not yet won a game with the new roster. Chicago has already lost three games since changing its lineup. The team scored fewer points and struggled to defend effectively.

Donovan is now calling on the new guards to make an immediate impact, especially on defense. He said these players need to put in more effort to make it harder for opponents to score. That defensive effort will help the rest of the team.

“I do think with Jaden [Ivey], Anfernee [Simons], Collin [Sexton], Rob [Dillingham] . . . we’re going to have to be more disruptive . . . Our guards have to be better on the ball defensively. They’ve just got to be more physical on the ball. That would help with the size and the rolls at the rim,” Donovan noted, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Donovan admitted that adding four new guards midseason is challenging. He said these players didn’t have time to practice together before joining the team. He stressed that effort, teamwork and taking responsibility are just as important as individual talent. Donovan wanted these new players to push each other and help the team defend better.

The need for strong defense is even more pressing with guard Tre Jones sidelined by a hamstring injury. Jones, one of the Bulls’ best at deflecting the ball and disrupting opponents, likely won’t return until after the All-Star break. The new guards will have to fill that defensive role in his absence.

For Donovan, these trades are a way to improve the team’s defensive identity. Thus, in the coming weeks, he said the focus will be on the players’ adjustments, learning to work together, and staying resilient. If the new guards step up, they can help the Bulls stay competitive, even in a season full of changes.

Chicago Bulls: Nikola Vucevic sends brutal message after Celtics trade

Former Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic wanted a chance to compete for an NBA championship.

That wasn’t going to happen with the Bulls this season, and he seems right at home with the Boston Celtics.

Off the bench, Vucevic was third in scoring for the Celtics with 19 points and 11 rebounds (game high) in a 124-105 win over the Bulls in front of 19,156 fans at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

Vucevic was brought to Boston to help the team chase a championship this spring. He’s been key in adding points and rebounds for the Celtics, scoring double-digits in each of the three games he’s played for Boston since the trade from Chicago.

He earned 12 rebounds in Boston’s 98-96 win over the Miami Heat on Feb. 6.

Vucevic told reporters on Wednesday that he notices a big change in the culture between the Bulls and Celtics. It was a brutal message for Chicago’s front office.

They really feel like they have another chance at it,” he said, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “So you can really feel it. It just comes with the culture of having done it so much and having done it recently… They’re really focused on winning now and going deep in the postseason, and you can really tell.

“Just the situation they’re in, it was different in Chicago because they were a younger team, trying to figure out the next move and the pieces, things like that. Here, you definitely feel that. It’s a good opportunity for me, and I hope I can make the best out of it, help this team achieve its goals.”

The Bulls are quickly falling out of position to even make the Play-In Tournament. After Wednesday night’s loss, Chicago fell to 24-31, and are 11th in the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games back from the 10th place Atlanta Hawks.

Boston is in second place in the conference with a 35-19 record, 5.5 games back from the Detroit Pistons.

Michael Jordan had message for Bubba Wallace ahead of Daytona 500

The NASCAR season officially gets underway on Sunday with one of the biggest races of the year — the Daytona 500. The annual race kicks off the season as it brings out some of the best fans in racing to Daytona.

For 23XI Racing, they are hoping this is finally the year they can win the Cup Series title this year whether it be Tyler Reddick or Bubba Wallace. But as the two drivers prepare for Sunday’s big race, one of them revealed a message that team owner Michael Jordan passed on.

Ahead of Sunday’s race, Wallace actually saw Jordan on the golf course, most likely Grove XXIII the personal course for Jordan in Florida. The two hung out and during media day at the Daytona 500, Wallace shared the message that Jordan gave him.

“I actually seen him yesterday on the golf course,” Wallace said, via Rich Jones of Daily Express U.S. “We had a good leadership meeting a couple of weeks ago. He’s fired up, it’s a new season, it’s a clean slate, and we’re ready to go get it.”

Jordan has made an impact in racing with owning 23XII Racing. But he’s yet to win a title in the sport, something he would love to add to his resume. Wallace added just how much Jordan loves the sport as well.

“Yeah, we’ve both been fans of the sport, he’s been a lot longer fan than I have, but we understand what it takes to be successful and to win at this level is super hard, but when you have the right people surrounding you, then sky’s the limit,” Wallace continued. “So, put it all together.”

A win at Daytona for Wallace or Reddick would be awesome and would help the 23XI legacy even more.

This is what Bleacher Report believes is the worst Chicago Bulls trade ever

The Chicago Bulls have been able to have some of the best players ever don the iconic red jersey over the years. Drafting talent like Michael Jordan or trading for talent like Scottie Pippen, there are all different ways to build rosters. However, they have also been on the bad side of getting talent on their roster. Let’s take a deeper dive into one of the worst trades Chicago has made in franchise history.

Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey wrote an article ranking the 50 worst NBA trades ever, with the Bulls being listed a few times. Some trades saw the team get the better end of the deal, while others not so much. Their worst trade is ranked 32nd, which took place during the 2006 NBA Draft, where the Bulls traded LaMarcus Aldridge and a second-round pick for Tyrus Thomas and Viktor Khryapa. Below is the reasoning for the trade being ranked this low:

“Crushing teams for draft-night decisions always feels a little unfair. And in this case, Tyrus Thomas was entering the NBA with plenty of hype. Prior to his selection, DraftExpress read, ‘In terms of physical attributes, there are few players in the NBA right now who can match Thomas’ combination of length and athletic ability.’

“In his lone season at LSU, he averaged 12.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and a conference-leading 3.1 blocks in just 25.9 minutes. But Thomas’ skills never caught up to those physical gifts in the NBA. He finished his career with a sub-44 field-goal percentage and an average of 7.7 points. Meanwhile, LaMarcus Aldridge went on to be one of the best players in Portland Trail Blazers history. The five-time All-NBA selection turned himself into a fringe Hall of Fame candidate.”

Thomas would play 254 games with the Bulls and struggled to be effective, while Khyrapa would play in just 42 games for the team before ending his NBA career. It is difficult to find a bigger backfire than trading away one of the better players of a generation for two players who played less than five total years with the team.

New Chicago Bulls acquisition hints at return to former team this offseason

As part of the moves the Chicago Bulls made at the NBA Trade Deadline last week, they acquired a young guard in Anfernee Simons. The Boston Celtics sent Simons to the Bulls to acquire Nikola Vucevic in hopes of adding a key post piece.

For Simons, he gets the chance to play himself into a new contract. He’s set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and with Chicago likely not going to the playoffs, this is an audition for Simons to every team in the league.

Including the Boston Celtics.

Ahead of the two team’s matchup the other night in Boston, Simons caught up with reporters to talk about the trade. In a quote, he hinted that his time in Boston may not be over with just yet.

Simons was asked if he saw a future for himself in Boston after getting comfortable there. And the follow up mentioned a possible return to the Celtics.

That’s where he kept that door open.

“For sure, you are winning and everything is going great. You’re getting comfortable,” Simons said. “I’ve always said it’s a family environment here. People try their best to make you feel comfortable. You wanted to see obviously the light at the end of the tunnel and be able to compete with your team for the whole season but it’s the NBA. It’s a business.”

“For sure. Obviously, have to finish out the season here first and then see what happens there. For sure, down the line. Like I said, I’ve enjoyed my time here and built great relationships here. I see it for sure.”

Simons has played in just a few games for the Bulls, and to be honest, he’s probably not in their future plans anyway. As an unrestricted free agent, he would have to show a lot for the Bulls to consider giving him a deal this offseason.

Matas Buzelis found motivation through Derrick Rose

The Chicago Bulls are ushering in a rebuild through the moves they made at the NBA Trade Deadline. With Chicago going in that direction, they still have two pieces to build around in Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey.

Both are young enough to be key pieces in a rebuild and while it’s hard to potentially find motivation in a season like this, that’s not the case for this duo.

Specifically for Buzelis, he was named to the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge and helped lead Team Vince to a win in that challenge. But he’s pointing to another Chicago legend and the moment he had as motivation.

How Matas Buzelis is using Derrick Rose for motivation​

This season, the Bulls honored former MVP Derrick Rose by retiring his number 1. The banner will now hang in the rafters of the United Center forever and for Buzelis, it was a special night in more than one way.

Buzelis grew up a Bulls fan and now playing for his hometown team, he got to enjoy that special moment. It also provided him motivation.

“Honestly, I’m big into visualization,” Buzelis said. “That’s something that I see and I want to achieve that. Especially in Chicago, being hung next to Michael Jordan, it’s an honor to do that. That’s something that I see and it put more motivation into my mind.”

The forward had a good start to his second season and still has a lot to prove. He’s flashed his potential and the thing to remember is that he’s just 21-years-old, so there’s a lot of room to grow. It’s also cool to see that he understands how important that night was for the organization.

Billy Donovan hits new-look Chicago Bulls with harsh reality

Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan spoke about the challenges his team faces after a series of trades at the NBA deadline.

Around the trade deadline, the Bulls reshaped much of the team they had built earlier in the season. Veteran players Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu and Kevin Huerter were traded to other teams. In return, Chicago added new players: Jaden Ivey, Anfernee Simons, Collin Sexton, Rob Dillingham, Nick Richards, and several draft picks.

The team made seven trades in less than a week. This made the Bulls one of the most active teams at the deadline. These moves dramatically reshaped the Bulls’ lineup. They replaced established contributors with a mix of young players, short-term veterans and future assets.

For context, Vucevic and White had been statistical leaders. Vucevic averaged about 16.9 points per game, and White 18.6. Huerter had also been a steady contributor, averaging 10.9 per game. Dosunmu was having a career-high scoring campaign, averaging 16.0 points per game, with a season and career high of 35 points.

The trades immediately affected the Bulls’ performance. Since Feb. 5, they have lost their first four games with the new roster. The team struggled to maintain defensive intensity and also came up short on the offensive end. These are clear signs the team is still adjusting.

Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan admits team faces tough adjustment​

Donovan, an NBA head coach for 11 years, recently discussed the challenges his new-look team faces after the trades. He admitted the situation is unusual for a midseason team, calling it “unprecedented.”

“It’s an unprecedented situation we’re in right now, and I told [the players] we’ll have choices to make,” Donovan said, via the Chicago Sun-Times.

He noted that players can’t expect to click instantly without a training camp and will need “resiliency and toughness” to build chemistry quickly.

“If we just think we’re going to have guys come together without a training camp and just win basketball games, it doesn’t work that way. We’re going to have to show a level of resiliency and toughness to expedite some of this stuff,” Donovan explained.

With few practices and games coming fast, he said the focus should be on learning and adjusting, not immediate wins.

For fans and casual observers, the situation is like a company that replaces many key staff during an important project. Even skilled new hires need time and teamwork before things run smoothly.

Before the trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls got rid of Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, and Nikola Vucevic.

The Bulls hope to help build around a young core of Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey.

Chicago invested in Giddey during the offseason, signing him to a four-year contract extension worth $100 million in September.

Giddey, a 2021 first-round pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder, is averaging a team-high 18.6 points per game to go along with 8.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists. His 46.2 percent on field goals ranks No. 90 in the association.

Before Sunday’s 2026 NBA All-Star Game, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was asked about Giddey’s development.

James gave an honest answer on Giddey, saying the guard struggled as a shooter in Oklahoma City. James changed his mind on the six-foot-seven, 216-pound athlete after seeing him become a much better scoring threat with the Bulls.

“His knock was when he left OKC was his ability to shoot the ball,” James said. “Now he’s shooting the ball. You can’t just sag off of him, you can’t just lay off of him and dare him to shoot.

“He’s actually shooting the ball at a high clip. Chicago has a really good player in him.”

Last March, James had to watch as Giddey knocked in a half-court shot over him to give the Bulls a comeback win over the Lakers.

For the 2023-24 season, the final campaign for Giddey with the Thunder, he averaged scoring 12.3 points per game on 25.2 minutes. His field goal percentage was higher in Oklahoma City, shooting 48.2 percent from the field in 2022-23 and 47.5 percent in 2023-2024.

Still, Giddey is at least attempting more shots with the Bulls.

After losing three key players for the offense via the trade deadline, Chicago will need Giddey to be even more of a focus as a scorer going forward.

Tyler Reddick delivers Michael Jordan his first Daytona 500 victory

Before Sunday’s Daytona 500 race, Michael Jordan talked about how important the race is to him. He mentioned watching it with his family growing up and how special that occasion was.

Hours later, Jordan was on victory lane and it’s an early birthday present for the GOAT who turns 63 on Tuesday.

In a crash filled final lap, 23XI’s Tyler Reddick emerged from the pack and took home the checkered flag for his first Daytona 500 win. Reddick didn’t lead a single lap in the race until the final one, which is all that matters.

Tyler Reddick’s crazy final lap​

Reddick got some help from 23XI teammate Riley Herbst who was driving really well on that final lap. Then, there were a few wrecks leading to Reddick crossing the finish line with crashes behind him.

Herbst finished eighth in the race while 23XI’s Bubba Wallace ended 10th after winning stage two and leading for most of the final stage until he had to pit.

The Daytona 500 win is the first for Reddick, Jordan and 23XI Racing as they are off to a good start for new season.

Michael Jordan was in disbelief after 23XI won at Daytona

The NASCAR season is back with the Daytona 500 to kick off the season, bringing with it a ton of excitement.

The Daytona 500 was chaotic to say the least, with multiple wrecks, including one that ended up deciding the race and brought Michael Jordan and his driver, Tyler Reddick (45 car), of the 23XI Team the victory. Jordan, who sued and won against NASCAR in the offseason, had four drivers competing in Sunday’s race: Bubba Wallace (23 car, finished 10th), Reddick, Riley Herbst (35 car, finished eighth), and Corey Heim, who serves as the team’s development driver (67 car, finished 28th).

Jordan, a six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls, won his first Daytona 500 as an owner of a team, saying, “It felt like he won a championship.”

“I can’t even believe it was so gratifying. I mean, we had four guys that were really fighting, that was helping each other out. I mean, you never know how these races gonna end, right?” Jordan said to FOX Sports after the race. “It’s like you just try to survive. And I thought Riley did an unbelievable job by pushing at the end. That shows you what teamwork can really, really do. I mean, he doesn’t get enough credit, he won’t get enough credit, but we feel the love. We understand exactly what he did. And I mean, we just hung in there all day. I mean, we great strategy by the team, and we gave ourselves a chance at the end. And look, I’m ecstatic. I mean, I don’t even know what to say. It feels like I won a championship, but until I get my ring, I won’t even know.”

NASCAR could be in for Michael Jordan and 23XI making noise this season​

With three proven race winners on his team, Jordan and the 23XI Team seem like they could be making noise this season. 23XI will compete in NASCAR’s next race, the Autotrader 400 on Feb. 22.

With his win, Reddick takes a commanding lead in the standings, collecting 58 Cup Series points, while Joey Logano (22 car) sits in second place with 46 points. The Chicago Bulls are a storied NBA franchise, especially in the 1990s. They dominated the 90s, winning two separate three-peat championships — the first one from 1991-1993 and the second from 1996-1998.

NBA legends Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan led the Bulls to six championships. They became global icons and basically helped the NBA reach its worldwide status and become what it is today.

Barack Obama delivers a blunt message to Chicago Bulls rival Reggie Miller​

During the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, Reggie Miller interviewed Obama during a segment of their broadcast. The Indiana Pacers icon caught up with the former President.

Miller asked Obama to recall his time in Chicago in the 90s, during Jordan and the Bulls’ dominance.

“Do you have a favorite moment during that time in Chicago during the ’90s?” Miller asked. “I always enjoyed watching us beat Indiana,” Obama jokingly answered.

Obama then praised Miller, acknowledging that he had given Jordan and the Bulls a lot of trouble at the time.

“I will say that nobody terrified me more than Reggie Miller with a possible three-point shot at the end of the game,” Obama said.

Miller responded by asking if Jordan pushed off in the infamous Utah Jazz NBA Finals series in 1998. He was referencing Jordan’s game-winning shot, where he seemingly pushed off Bryon Russell to get open.

The respect between the Bulls and the Pacers remains high despite their intense Eastern Conference rivalry in the 90s.

NASCAR president Steve O’Donnell shares cool moment with Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is used to winning. He won a national championship while at North Carolina, won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls and even has won Olympic gold medals. But Sunday was a first for the legendary basketball star.

With Tyler Reddick crossing the finish line, he delivered himself, Jordan and 23XI Racing a Daytona 500 win. The first for all of 23XI Racing.

Reddick’s win was the first major race win for Jordan as the two and the team celebrated after the race. Jordan’s celebration not only caught the fans’ attention but NASCAR president Steve O’Donnell as well.

Jordan was sitting in the 23XI box in pit lane, watching the final laps. While Bubba Wallace led for most of the third stage, it was Reddick that emerged victorious thanks to some crashes on the final lap. But as Jordan celebrated, O’Donnell noticed it.

O’Donnell told The Athletic he spotted Jordan, with both his hands in the air, shouting, “Yes! Yes! Yes! This is the greatest. The greatest.” Jordan then offered only warmth, no jabs.

“I’ve never seen a guy that enthusiastic — I mean, other than winning an NBA championship,” O’Donnell said. “He gave us both hugs. It was a really cool moment. It’s pretty awesome.”

It was another iconic moment for Jordan and it came months after his team and NASCAR settled in court. Jordan continues to stack up the wins now in Motorsports and Sunday’s was the biggest he’s had so far, months after his previous biggest win.

WNBA: NBA legend Carmelo Anthony addresses Caitlin Clark incident

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony addressed a viral on-air incident involving fellow Hall of Famer Reggie Miller and WNBA star Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever. It happened during Clark’s guest broadcasting debut on NBC’s NBA pregame show on Feb. 1.

The 24-year-old Fever guard appeared alongside Miller, Anthony and NBC host Maria Taylor. The segment aired before the New York Knicks faced the Los Angeles Lakers at Madison Square Garden.

During the broadcast, Miller praised Clark as one of Indiana’s top shooters while jokingly ranking himself below her. The 60-year-old former Indiana Pacers standout listed the ranking as Clark, Tyrese Haliburton and then himself.

Miller’s praise drew extra attention when he compared Clark to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard. He made the comparison after being asked which NBA player Clark most reminded him of.

Speaking on the latest episode of the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Anthony said he was surprised by Miller’s comparison. He believes Clark deserves a comparison to bigger NBA stars than Pritchard.

“I was hearing it loud as [expletive] in my ear, and when he said Payton Pritchard, it just caught me off guard… He wasn’t completely trippin’, but he was trippin’,” the 41-year-old legendary forward said.

Anthony thinks Clark’s skills go beyond simple comparisons to any single NBA player.

“She got a lil’ Steph [Curry], [Tyrese] Haliburton.” Anthony continued, “She plays a little like Luka [Doncic]. She knows angles. She manipulates your offense.”

Chicago Bulls’ Billy Donovan complains about roster construction

The Chicago Bulls roster looks a little wonky after the trade deadline.

The Bulls are guard-heavy.

Chicago traded away Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, and Nikola Vucevic to rebuild a new core that will revolve around Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis.

The Bulls have eight guards on their roster, and size is a significant issue for a team coming out of the All-Star break with a 24-31 record, one spot out of the Play-In Tournament as the No. 11 team in the Eastern Conference.

Chicago head coach Billy Donovan knows he has a guard problem.

Per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Donovan said he’s going to have a hard time figuring out a way to give players minutes because of all the guards he has on the roster.

“I think guys are going to have to earn minutes,” Donovan said.

“Because of all the guards we have we’re not going to be able to play all of them because we’ll have size issues too, so you may get playing Jalen (Smith) and Nick Richards together, and if you have Matas (Buzelis) out there or Patrick (Williams) out there, there’s only two guard spots, so you’re going to have four guards sitting on the bench. That could happen.”

The Bulls didn’t exactly light it up after the trade deadline. Chicago is on a six-game losing streak. All of those losses came by double digits.

Chicago will next host the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.

The Bulls are set to tank for the rest of the season, which should help the team’s chances of earning a lottery pick.

But the rest of the season could be unwatchable for fans.

It’s unplayable for Donovan.

Chicago Bulls front office named among worst in NBA

The Chicago Bulls finally made the decision to sell at the NBA Trade Deadline, hoping to reset this offseason. While Chicago moved on from a handful of key players, the return was a bit lackluster.

In reality, the Bulls waited too long to make these moves. It’s nice to stack second-round picks but the Bulls really should have tried to get into that top 3 last year as well as this year in the draft. Instead, they are 10th in the draft order right now ahead of the lottery in May. There’s a long way to go to get into that top 3 and potentially land a franchise-changing player.

As the NBA returns from break this week, the Bulls are being slammed once again. Specifically the front office.

In Sam Quinn’s latest for CBS Sports, he ranked every front office in the NBA. It’s the perfect time to get a gauge on these front offices coming off of the all-star break and trade deadline.

To no one’s surprise in Chicago, the Bulls front office was ranked poorly. Quinn had the Bulls ranked 28th:

The Bulls have now technically moved up in back-to-back rankings. They should not take that as a compliment. The last two teams have just distinguished themselves too much over the last year for Chicago to do any worse than 28th.

I’ll give the Bulls this… they finally seem to have gotten the rebuilding memo. They gave away many of their desirable veterans at this year’s deadline. Of course, they didn’t manage to get a single first-round pick back for Nikola Vučević, Coby White or Ayo Dosunmu when any of them probably could have had they acted faster. They didn’t get first-rounders back for DeMar DeRozan (the Spurs got a valuable Kings swap out of that one, though!) or Lonzo Ball either. They got a first-round pick back for Zach LaVine… except it was their own protected pick. They could have just tanked to keep it. But they were too slow, and that’s true in more ways than one. The 2025 and 2026 draft classes were great. It’s a shame they missed the tanking boat on both, because 2027 and 2028 are not expected to be as promising.

The only good news is that the Bulls moved up one spot from No. 29 to No. 28 since July’s rankings. But that’s not really anything to celebrate at the moment.

There’s a long way to go for the Bulls in this rebuild and the goal right now should be to get into that lottery for a top pick.

Michael Jordan breaks silence on NASCAR lawsuit at Daytona 500

The Super Bowl of racing is taking place on Sunday as the Daytona 500 is underway in Florida. For Michael Jordan, his 23XI Racing team has four drivers in the field for the race as he’s seeking his first ever win at Daytona.

But before the race started, Jordan caught up with FOX Sports reporter Jamie Little and he had some interesting things to say.

Jordan did talk about how important the Daytona 500 race is to him. He mentioned watching it with his family as a kid, sitting around the TV each year for the race. However, it was what he said about the lawsuit he was apart of with 23XI and NASCAR.

After 15 long months, 23XI Racing settled a major lawsuit against NASCAR ahead of this new season. It was a lengthy process but in the end, Jordan and his team essentially got what they had hoped for.

Now, he’s talking about the result for the first time.

“Communication — the thing is, both sides have been somewhat at a stalemate and we both needed to have conversations about change, how we can grow this sport,” Jordan said. “Unfortunately, we had to go through what we had to go through last summer. But I think coming out of that, you have a much better appreciation for each other and I think it opens up conversations amongst each other to continue to grow the game.

“Don’t forget about the fans. The fans make this game so much enjoyable to watch. As much as we can listen, change, please the fans, please the teams and continue to grow the sport, I think everybody’s going to be OK.”

The settlement between the two side awarded 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports charters after both relinquished their charters when they didn’t sign the 2025-31 agreement to pursue the lawsuit. It also included an amendment with an agreement for all teams to have a form of “evergreen charters.”

It will now allow teams to receive revenue from the NASCAR international media rights deal.

More than half of the NBA season has now gone and we can say that things haven’t gone exactly as expected. Detroit is suddenly a powerhouse. A few teams we had as contenders are scrambling just to stay afloat. And the middle of both conferences is packed tight.

The Surprise Leaders Breaking Through​

The biggest surprise? The Pistons.

At 39-13, they’re not just good, they’ve been the class of the Eastern Conference. J.B. Bickerstaff has this team defending at an elite level, ranking second in points allowed per game. Cade Cunningham has taken the leap everyone was waiting for. He’s finally playing like a true All-Star and leader.

But it’s not just that they’re winning, it’s also who they’re beating. They’re 10-4 against teams over .500, so this isn’t a case of padding wins against weak opponents. They’re also 6-1 on the second night of back-to-backs. Might seem insignificant, but that stat usually separates deep, disciplined teams from flashy pretenders.

Out West, Oklahoma City still holds the top spot. But they’ve cooled off a bit lately. Their early-season dominance built enough cushion to weather a few bumps. Not every strong team is a surprise.

New York sits at 34-19 and looks steady. Since winning the NBA Cup, they’ve played with confidence and balance. Brunson continues to control games, and even with injuries in the rotation, the Knicks have managed to keep rolling. A recent 9-1 stretch suggests this isn’t just a good month, it’s a trend.

Bulls Trade Buzz: Potential Deals Fans Are Watching

During the chaotic 2025-26 NBA trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls were among the most active teams. Chicago is in a position where the organization must take a certain risk by signing inconsistent players with high ceilings. Jonathan Kuminga has earned a mixed reputation in his nearly five years with the Warriors. An athletic, quick wing who can guard multiple positions, he never found consistency and failed to improve his game IQ significantly. His sale to the Hawks at the trade deadline shows that the Warriors have lost faith in the forward.

However, Kuminga is only 23 years old and already has experience playing under extreme pressure. In an environment where he’s more trusted, a player can blossom. Therefore, Chicago’s interest in Johnathan seems entirely natural.

Austin Reaves​

If the Kuminga deal is like a gamble with Australia casino $50 no deposit bonus, then signing Austin Reaves is like hitting the jackpot. One of the NBA’s most improved and reliable guards will hit free agency this summer and will almost certainly get a max contract. The energetic German center, with good shooting stats and a decent offensive game, was one of the Bulls’ targets several years ago. Back then, Mo signed a two-year bridge contract with Orlando, hoping for more in 2025. However, an ACL injury interrupted his plans, sidelining him for a full year. Mo returned and has already surprised many with his three-point shooting.

In Chicago, Mo Wagner could get more minutes and a solid contract. In turn, the Bulls will get a reliable frontcourt player. Yes, signing a player to a long contract after a serious injury isn’t the same as getting a redeem coupon code for $50 free chips. However, the risk is worth it.

Players the Bulls could possibly acquire via trades​

However, Utah’s acquisition of Jarren Jackson Jr. could be seen as a signal that the rebuild is over. The Jazz will be looking to compete for the playoffs next season.

A sign-and-trade remains a distinct possibility. Kessler suffered a serious injury, so Salt Lake City may want a more reliable player, which Chicago lacks. Therefore, a deal is only possible with a third party involved.

Luguentz Dort​

Dort is an important piece of the championship-winning Oklahoma City Thunder, who may want a bigger role. He has already shown some offensive potential, averaging 15 PPG a few years ago. The Thunder have an extension option for the 2026-27 season, which they will likely exercise. However, it’s far from certain that the two sides will continue their partnership.

In Chicago, Dort could become a foundation player on defense and earn a bigger role offensively. He’s already won a ring and is unlikely to turn down a good contract elsewhere. A trade could at least compensate for his departure and avoid the feeling of being a player who missed out on a $50 free chip no deposit.

Tyler Herro​

The moment of truth is approaching for the Heat. The team has been waiting for a new franchise player to start their next quest for the rings. In a hypothetical scenario in which Chicago miraculously signs Austin Reaves, a Giannis trade from the Bucks no longer seems so far-fetched. The Greek Freak’s story in Milwaukee is coming to an end, and to avoid losing him for free, the team could make a trade this summer. Chicago’s prospects, combined with their collection of picks, make for a pretty good package.
