Browns, Titans injury reports: 15 players sit out Week 14’s Wednesday practice

gettyimages-2249587673.jpg

What happens when a one-win team faces off with a three-win team late in an NFL season? Injuries and rest, it seems.

The Cleveland Browns are favored against the Tennessee Titans heading into Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season, as both teams prepare for the 2026 NFL draft more than anything else. The two quarterbacks that were expected to be selected at the top of the 2025 NFL draft, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, will do battle with neither having solidified their position as the future of their respective teams.

Wednesday’s injury report was loaded with players sitting out practice, including a wide variety resting for Tennessee. Cleveland will be without DT Maliek Collins and OL Wyatt Teller this week for sure, and could be missing OL Jack Conklin, among others, leading to a lot of roster changes on Tuesday.

The first injury report of the week is a long one:

Browns Injury Report

  • TE Brenden Bates – Ankle – DNP
  • OL Joel Bitonio – Rest – Limited
  • LB Devin Bush – Foot – DNP
  • CB Tyson Campbell – Hip – Limited

Titans Injury Report

  • WR Chimere Dike – Quad – Limited
  • S Amani Hooker – Ribs – Full

  • RB Tony Pollard – Rest – DNP
  • DT Jeffery Simmons – Rest – DNP
  • DT Shy Tuttle – Concussion – Full
  • LB Jihad Ward – Rest – DNP
  • OL Kevin Zeitler – Rest – DNP

Given the number of players listed with rest, the injury report will be much shorter by the end of the week.

Browns vs. Titans Week 14 predictions: Scoring will be a challenge

The Cleveland Browns take on the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. We talked about earlier in the week how the over/under for this game is one of the lowest of the season, and sure enough, all of the projections below would hit the under. It’s also a clean sweep projected for the Browns — which sounds good on paper if you just compare the defenses of the two teams, but can you properly account for special teams?

Here is what the national media is saying about the Week 14 game between the Browns and Titans:

CBS Sports (Pete Prisco) – Browns 20, Titans 10

This is the dog game of the day, but it does feature two quarterbacks from the 2025 draft class in Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. Both have done some good and bad things. The Browns defense is much better than what Sanders will face. Look for the Browns to win it behind that defense.

CBS Sports (John Breech) – Browns 20, Titans 13

Sporting News (Vinnie Iyer) – Browns 16, Titans 7

Cam Ward vs. Shedeur Sanders used to be a top Hesiman and draft debate. Ward hasn’t done anything yet to dazzle as a rookie despite starting all season, while Sanders has had a few flashes early taking over for Cleveland. Ward is the only one of the rookie QBs, however, who needs to deal with Myles Garrett and the Browns’ pass rush on the road here.

Sporting News (Bill Bender) – Browns 17, Titans 12

Shedeur Sanders vs. Cam Ward? That’s the best way to sell what could be a low-scoring game between struggling offenses. Cleveland ranks 29th in scoring offense (16.2 ppg). Tennessee is last (14.2 ppg). Sanders has taken just four sacks through two starts. Ward has taken an average of four sacks per game on the road. Could Myles Garrett break the sack record this week?

Browns, Titans injury reports: 7 ruled out, 7 questionable for Week 14 in Cleveland

gettyimages-2247005093.jpg

Not only do the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans have a combined record of 4-20, but injuries will also keep seven players on the sidelines for Week 14. While both teams might be tanking for the best position pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the players on the field will not be doing so on Sunday.

The problem is that quite a few will not be on the field.

The Browns will be without two starters on the offensive line, while the Titans will be lacking their center and cornerback. Seven other players are questionable for the game.

Wednesday’s injury report was a long one, with 15 players sitting out, including a lot of Titans resting despite only one victory this season. Thursday saw a lot of changes to the participation report. Friday, both teams submitted their final reports for Week 14:

Browns Injury Report

  • TE Brenden Bates – Ankle – Out
  • OL Jack Conklin – Concussion – Out
  • DT Adin Huntington – Quad – Out
  • OL Wyatt Teller – Calf – Out
  • QB Deshaun Watson – Achilles – Out

Titans Injury Report

  • S Kendell Brooks – Concussion – Questionable

The inactive reports that will come out 90 minutes before the game will be interesting, given the important questionable players on the lists above.

Browns vs. Titans: Week 14 Need to Know

gettyimages-2249749780.jpg

The Cleveland Browns play consecutive home games for the first time this season when they host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field.

Cleveland is coming off another dispirited loss, this time to the San Francisco 49ers, as the offense could never find a rhythm in the second start with Shedeur Sanders at quarterback. The Browns have now lost seven of their past nine games.

The Titans are in a worse spot, having lost seven in a row and currently in the driver’s seat to have the No. 1 overall draft pick for the second consecutive season.

While it may not be a marquee matchup, there is still a reason to tune in as Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett continues his chase for the NFL’s single-season sack record. The game will also provide a contrast between rookie quarterbacks, with Sanders going up against Tennessee’s weak defense and Cam Ward facing Cleveland’s highly rated unit.

It is the Browns vs. the Titans from downtown Cleveland, and here is everything you need to know about the game.

  • Tennessee’s defense has posted at least three sacks in five of its past six games.
  • Ward has thrown 143 consecutive passes, covering four games, without throwing an interception.
  • Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett is four sacks away from breaking the NFL record for sacks in a season.
  • In Cleveland’s three wins, running back Quinshon Judkins has rushed for six touchdowns. He has just one rushing touchdown in the other eight games he has played.
  • Judkins is currently tied with New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart for the most rushing touchdowns by a rookie.
  • Tennessee wide receiver Chimere Dike leads the league with 1,282 kickoff return yards. He has 1,921 all-purpose yards, leaving him just 79 yards away from becoming the fifth player in franchise history with 2,000 all-purpose yards in a season.
  • Since the beginning of the 2024 season, the Titans are 4-25, while the Browns are 6-23.
  • The Browns and Titans have both scored less than 17 points in a game seven times.

In Case You Missed It

A Final Quote

Defensive end Myles Garrett on possibly breaking the record for sacks in a single season on Sunday against the Titans:

“I mean, I’ll go for four, but I respect that team over there and what they can do. So, I got to make sure we stop the run and earn four opportunities, in which I can make that happen.”

Browns roster: Practice squad elevation news surprising given injuries

gettyimages-2230949131.jpg

The Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans will face off in a matchup for the aged, not ages. The fanbases for both teams have been weathered by the play they’ve had to watch on the field, and now they face each other in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season. Both teams should be focused on the 2026 NFL draft and where they may be selecting.

Can QB Shedeur Sanders show up his counterpart, the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft QB Cam Ward?

Injuries and players sitting out were a big story to start the week, with 15 players sitting out practice on Wednesday. By Friday, seven players were ruled out for the Browns versus Titans, with seven others listed as questionable for Week 14.

With four defensive linemen and a starting linebacker among those listed as out or questionable, it made sense for Cleveland to elevate a defender from the practice squad. With two offensive linemen already ruled out, it seemed likely they would also elevate someone from that group.

Instead, the Browns only elevated DE KJ Henry for the game:

Henry (6-4, 255) is in his third NFL season out of Clemson. Originally a fifth-round pick by Washington in 2023, Henry has appeared in 14 career games with three starts with the Commanders (2023), Bengals (2024) and Cowboys (2024). He has recorded 22 career tackles and 2.5 sacks. Henry will wear No. 90.

With Watson still on Injured Reserve, four of Cleveland’s seven inactive players will be TE Brenden Bates, OL Jack Conklin, DT Adin Huntington, and OL Wyatt Teller. With five players listed as questionable, elevating just one player seems to indicate that at least two of them will be able to play on Sunday. If not, the Browns would have elevated a second player instead of playing a man down on the active roster.

Browns injuries: Big DT Mason Graham update for Week 14 vs Titans

gettyimages-2247008247.jpg

The Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans will lock horns in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL regular season in a game that could have a huge impact on the 2026 NFL draft order. While most of the attention for the Browns will be on Saturday’s report related to QB Deshaun Watson’s future with the team, the upcoming NFL draft and injuries are the more important pieces immediately.

Cleveland has listed five players, including Watson, as out for Sunday, with five more questionable:

  • TE Brenden Bates – Ankle – Out
  • OL Jack Conklin – Concussion – Out
  • DT Adin Huntington – Quad – Out
  • OL Wyatt Teller – Calf – Out
  • QB Deshaun Watson – Achilles – Out
  • LB Devin Bush – Foot – Questionable
  • DT Mason Graham – Ribs – Questionable
  • DT Mike Hall Jr. – Knee – Questionable
  • DE Isaiah McGuire – Knee – Questionable
  • RB Dylan Sampson – Calf – Questionable

Despite all those names, the Browns only elevated one player off the practice squad, which seemed to indicate they were confident in at least some of the questionable players listed above.

According to multiple reports on Saturday night, the rookie Graham will be one of the questionable players to see the field in Week 14:

#Browns DT Mason Graham, listed as questionable because of a ribs injury, told reporters this week that he’s playing.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 7, 2025

Graham has started all 12 games so far this season and will be relied upon more heavily with veteran DT Maliek Collins out for the season with an injury.

Browns winners, losers: Shedeur Sanders, Week 14 comeback falls short

gettyimages-2250570289.jpg

Joe-Thomas-art-DONE.jpg

The Cleveland Browns need to play the Tennessee Titans, New York Football Giants, Miami Dolphins, and Las Vegas Raiders every game. Even then, we’ve seen that wins don’t always come (see: Week 9 and Week 14).

RELATED: BROWNS TITANS FINAL SCORE

Unfortunately, unlike college football, NFL clubs don’t make their own schedule. And mixed into the madness of each season are some very good teams that must be faced. That is the reality of the league.

Now, the Titans are not one of those very good teams. They were ranked before kickoff as the very worst roster in the league by most. They picked first overall in last April’s NFL draft and are headed for another first overall spot, it seems.

Cleveland isn’t going to the playoffs once again. In fact, they were trying to stop the bleeding with the possibility that they would possess back-to-back seasons with double-digit losses. That is what this team is playing for right now. Don’t hit the 10-loss threshold, and play for your job going into next season. Play for pride. Play for your city. Winning the final five games of the season to use that momentum going into next year.

Tennessee’s only win had been a come-from-behind effort against another lowly team in the Arizona Cardinals. They are at or near the bottom in every offensive and defensive category. They fired their head coach weeks ago.

The game featured two rookie quarterbacks. In the end, Cleveland could not defeat a team that had won a single game all season, losing to the Titans 31-29 with the help of two failed two-point conversions.

So who played well for the Browns? Who didn’t?

BROWNIES

TE Harold Fannin – Fannin was kinda quiet in the first half, but made up for it in the final two quarters. Had a nice grab in the first quarter that gained 17 yards over the short middle. Facing a third-and-20 with 7:58 left before halftime, QB Shedeur Sanders hit Fannin, who then bullied his way for 17 yards short of the sticks.

Dropped it in the corner for the score!#TENvsCLE on Fox and NFL+ pic.twitter.com/H3BWMoNess

— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) December 7, 2025

One of the best passing plays of the game occurred in the third quarter as Fannin beat S Amani Hooker for a 35-yard gain into Tennessee territory. The 17-yard catch and run put the Browns in business in the fourth quarter at the Titans’ 29. His touchdown catch was a beautiful throw and an excellent catch at the high point. Led all Cleveland pass catchers with 11 targets, eight receptions for 114 yards, one touchdown, and a 14.3 yards per catch average.

LB Carson Schwesinger – This kid is everywhere. The first play of the game is a kickoff, and Schwesinger is down to make the tackle. Nailed RB Tyjae Spears for just a three-yard gain in the second quarter when it appeared he would be in for a long run. Schwesinger went off the field in the second quarter with a foot injury, but later returned on the next series, played hurt, and then made the tackle on the first two plays. Nice pass breakup for WR Van Jefferson with just over four minutes before the half. Stuffed RB Tony Pollard with 3:44 left in the game for no gain, which forced a third-and-long. Led all Browns’ defenders with 13 tackles.

tracked it down and took it the other way!#TENvsCLE on Fox and NFL+ pic.twitter.com/URFm276Tef

— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) December 7, 2025

LB Devin Bush – Great effort and a superb interception and runback in the first quarter. He had dropped in coverage and was playing the short field when he undercut the throw meant for WR Elic Ayomanor, and suddenly the talented linebacker was gone. The play before Ayomanor had the ball, and Bush’s hit dislodged it. Filled the gap and took down Spears as the second quarter was approaching. Nailed Pollard on a second-and-10 in the final period for a two-yard gain. Finished with nine tackles and two batted passes.

FROWNIES

The play that lost the game – The Browns were fighting back. The entire stadium had already gotten out of their seats and was headed for the parking lots when the Titans scored a field goal after the blocked punt to make 31-17 with 6:17 remaining. In just five plays, Cleveland scored on the Shedeur Sanders scramble. The score was now 31-23 with the PAT left up next. A successful PAT would make it a seven-point game. But what is this? A two-point attempt? What? Why? The score is Cleveland down eight points. Kick the ball and make it a seven-point deficit, right? For whatever reason, from whomever, the Browns went for two and were unsuccessful. What a stupid, stupid, assessment of how points are tabulated.

The other play that lost the game – Okay, nobody actually expected the Browns to come back, but they did. The defense did its job and stopped Tennessee, who then punted with 2:53 left in the game. With 1:03 left on the clock, Sanders had a great drive and seven plays later, Sanders hit Fannin for a touchdown. Run out the field goal team and kick the extra point? Oh, wait, now down by two instead of down by one. The new math, right? Another two-point attempt. In the huddle, did anyone see Sanders or anyone else down on their knee drawing in the dirt? That is what this play looked like. After yet another failed two-point attempt, every garbage dumpster at the stadium burst into flames at the same time.

The #Browns just had a really ugly attempt at a 2-pt conversion and the tie.

Quinshon Judkins takes the direct snap. No Shedeur Sanders on the field. Failed play. Cleveland loses. pic.twitter.com/39CPucqJm2

— Arye Pulli (@AryePulliNFL) December 7, 2025

P Corey Bojorquez – Two horrible kicks set up the Titans very nicely. This was not our punting hero in this game. With 7:05 left in the first quarter, Bojo’s punt went 39 yards to Cleveland’s 46. Then, with just six minutes before the half, he hit a 34-yarder that was downed at the 15. A 27-yard punt? Yep, happened in the third quarter. Yikes. Another 39-yarder in the third quarter. The punt block was not his fault. Finished with six kicks for 222 yards and a 37.0 average yards per kick. Bad, bad game for a talented kicker.

CB Denzel Ward – Tennessee’s first touchdown was a short crossing route to WR Ayomanor for 14 yards. When he made his break to the left, he had a rounded route to which Ward never made any attempt to shadow him. Just go where the receiver went, and watch him catch a touchdown was the strategy. No head bob, no shoulder juke, no flailing arms, no attempt to fool anyone by the receiver. No defense.

— Tennessee Titans (@Titans) December 7, 2025

Then the Titans’ second touchdown was when RB Tony Pollard broke free. Ward had three chances to tackle Pollard, including one where he reached out to grab his shoulder pads. You stop a runner’s legs by grabbing the shoulder pads? Is that something new?

RT KT Leveston – Can’t pass block worth a crap. His man, Jihad Ward: 4 tackles, 4 QB hits, 2 missed sacks.

LT Cam Robinson – Can’t pass block worth a crap. The great Jeffrey Simmons: 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 1 batted pass, 3 QB hits, 3 missed sacks.

Special teams – Right off, KR Chimere Dike ran it back 41 yards, and if not for the tackling ability of Schwesinger, he could have tacked on another 10 yards. On the blocked punt, Bojo could have just handed it to backup LB James Williams. He came off the right corner, and nobody touched him. Browns KR Gage Larvadain had just 4.0 yards per return on punt returns and muffed one fair catch. Bojorquez had a terrible day.

Milk Bones – You know you’re old when prescriptions replace subscriptions

QB Shedeur Sanders – The Browns had a difficult time running the ball, so Sanders had to throw it 42 times and connected on 23 for an 8.7 yards per completion average. The interception was completely inexperienced in how to handle the pocket crumbling around you. It was a bad decision in that three defenders were around the receiver. Nice decision to tuck the ball and run for that scramble for a touchdown.

Exceptional toss to TE David Njoku in the corner of the end zone, where only he could bring it in. Great read on the third-and-five in the second quarter that got a first down to Jerome Ford for nine yards. Used Fannin well and got several good gains in both halves. Finished with 364 yards with three TD passes against the one pick, was sacked twice, ran three times for 29 yards with another score, and had a QB rating of 97.7.

closer and closer to history for @flash_garrett#TENvsCLE on Fox and NFL+ pic.twitter.com/fpa81LW4cR

— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) December 7, 2025

DE Myles Garrett – The Tennessee offensive line ranked dead last in allowing sacks, so it seemed that Garrett would break this season’s sack record easily. No sir. The Titans set a tight end on his side who would chip him, then pass him off to LT Dan Moore. The Titans also used quite a few double teams with LG Peter Skoronski. The strategy worked well, as Garrett only got a sack and had a very quiet first half. Garrett had a nice tackle with 6:53 left in the game on a third-and-six for a loss of yardage by Spears that forced a field goal.

WR Jerry Jeudy – Glad to see him have a decent game, as he has been the invisible man in most games. Good speed got him some separation from CB Darrell Baker for the 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Finished with five targets, three receptions for 76 yards, a 25.3 yards per catch average, and a single score.

2026 NFL mock draft: Browns build around QB Shedeur Sanders

gettyimages-2248918217.jpg

After Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns are slotted in with the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft order. The Browns will also acquire another first-round pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars, a pick that is currently slotted late in the opening stanza.

Despite a very good game from QB Shedeur Sanders against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14, Cleveland is still likely to select a quarterback if it has a chance at the top of next year’s NFL draft. Given Sanders’ great stat line this week, completing a Browns 2026 NFL mock draft to build around Sanders is fun and, to some extent, logical.

The reality is that if Sanders proves he is THE guy for the franchise, Cleveland will have all kinds of options in the 2026 NFL draft, including trading down again if another team is desperate to get up for their quarterback. For now, we will just focus on building the best team around Sanders with this Browns mock draft using Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator.

First round – OT Caleb Lomu, Utah

The top tackle in the draft heads to Cleveland to protect Sanders.

First round – WR Denzel Boston, Washington

This year’s draft has a lot of interesting receivers. Boston’s size gives him the leg up on KC Concepcion for this pick.

Second round – WR Jakobi Lane, USC

Doubling up on bigger receivers with a history of production should immediately upgrade the Browns offense around Sanders.

Third round – OT Dametrious Crownover, Texas A&M

Speaking of doubling up, trusting Dawand Jones will be able to stay healthy is too far of a leap. If Sanders is locked in at quarterback with Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson at running back and Harold Fannin Jr. set as the starting tight end, adding both starting tackles and two top receivers in the first three rounds fixes a lot of issues.

Fourth round – QB LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

Listen, if Sellers is being drafted this low he should return to college, at a different school. However, he was available here and gives Cleveland a big QB to run sneaks and be creative on offense. Plus, you can never go wrong trying to invest in a big, athletic QB in the middle rounds.

Fifth round – CB Treydan Stukes, Arizona

Fifth round – DT Zane Durant
, Penn State

Fifth round – OG Tomas Rimac, Virginia Tech

It is important for the Browns to build their backup defenders and special teams, after investing heavily in the offense earlier. Getting a guard who can compete for a starting job or be a solid backup right away in the fifth round is another smart way to build the offensive line.

Sixth round – CB Charlie Demmings, Stephen F. Austin

Sixth round – RB Daylan Smothers, NC State

With a Dillon and a Dylan already on the roster, adding a Daylan just made sense. Jerome Ford is likely gone after this season so some depth is needed. Teams can never have enough cornerbacks, either.

Seventh round – OC Bryce Foster, Kansas

Might as well draft almost an entire offensive line.

How do you feel about this NFL mock draft for Cleveland building around QB Shedeur Sanders? Was it overkill to draft two WRs and two OTs with the first four picks?

Cleveland Browns offense sees the passing game come alive in Week 14 vs Titans

gettyimages-2250569210.jpg

The Cleveland Browns’ offense had one of their most exciting games of the season against the Titans, even though the offense was one-dimensional. It was just exciting to see the passing game come alive, en route to the Browns having 412 yards of offense. Numbers you like to see include being 6-of-14 (42.9%) on third down, and 3-of-3 (100%) in the red zone. Not included in the stats, though, is the Browns going 0-of-2 on two-point conversions.

Below, we analyze the snap counts and stats on offense for the Cleveland Browns’ Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Quarterback

PosPlayerPlays% SnapsStats
QBShedeur Sanders6797%23-of-42 (54.8%) for 364 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT. 3 carries, 29 yards (9.7 YPC), 1 TD.
  • Before the game, I kept harping that for as many small positives as I’ve seen from Shedeur Sanders so far, in order for him to have a shot at the starting quarterback job in 2026, he needed to let loose and go above and beyond the expectations for a typical rookie quarterback. Yes, I know it was against the Titans, another relatively weak pass defense, but I saw great progress from Sanders this week. That doesn’t mean we’re ready to anoint him, but that was the step he needed to take for this week. As a result, he’s officially been named the starter for the final four games.
  • This wasn’t just about garbage time — Sanders was making some excellent throws. You can also see that by virtue of him pushing the ball downfield often, a lot of those swing passes or short dumpoffs then end up working out for positive yardage too. Sanders showed some nice escapability and willingness to pull the trigger along with those great throws. Sure, I still think he’s taking a bit too long on some plays, but he is still a rookie and deserves some slack.
  • Sanders received his best PFF grade of the season, grading out to a 76.2, third-highest on offense. Also, remember that Sanders had this performance despite 3 members of his offensive line being injured.

Running Back

PosPlayerPlays% SnapsStats
RBQuinshon Judkins3246%14 carries, 26 yards (1.9 YPC). 1 catch, 58 yards (3 targets).
RBDylan Sampson2638%2 carries, 4 yards (2.0 YPC). 5 catches, 64 yards (6 targets), 1 fumble lost.
RBJerome Ford1319%2 catches, 10 yards (3 targets).
  • This was Quinshon Judkins’ worst game of the season, with the highlight being the burst he showed on his 58-yard screen pass that nearly went for a touchdown. The holes just weren’t there, he graded poorly in his two pass blocking snaps, and he had a mental gaffe on the final two-point conversion attempt. Judkins graded out to a 48.8 by PFF.
  • Dylan Sampson helped spark the Browns on some routes over the middle toward the end of the game, to give them a shot at quickly moving down the field. He did, however, also have a fumble that helped set up a score for Tennessee.

WRGage Larvadain2942%2 catches, 18 yards (3 targets).
WRMalachi Corley46%1 carry, 2 yards (2.0 YPC).
  • It wasn’t a lot of catches, but finally, we had a game that seemed mistake-free for Jerry Jeudy, with that degree of explosiveness when he beats his man off the line, as he went for a long touchdown reception. It’s about damn time. Maybe he needs a quarterback he believes in, even though that shouldn’t be an excuse.
  • The rest of the wide receivers were still low on catches, although Sanders still gave some downfield shots for Cedric Tillman, Isaiah Bond, and Gage Larvadain. These guys know that there is a fair shot they’ll be targeted downfield once or twice a game.
  • Jeudy was the Browns’ fourth-highest graded player on offense, grading out to a 69.3 by PFF.

  • What a game for Harold Fannin, who is just a beast. He went over the 100-yard mark this week and was the Browns’ second-highest graded player by PFF, grading out to an 88.8. Actually, all of the PFF rankings I mentioned so far can probably be bumped up by one spot, since the top guy was David Njoku (89.1), but he only had 6 snaps before exiting with a knee injury on his touchdown grab.

  • Sadly, the Browns have lost Ethan Pocic into next season with an Achilles’ injury. Not to pour salt in the wound, but PFF graded him as having a rough game (45.3), along with his replacement Luke Wypler (37.2).
  • KT Leveston showed some stability, grading out to a 65.4. The rest of the line had a rough go of things, although Teven Jenkins was solid in pass protection along with everyone else. It was the run blocking that really suffered.

Browns defense has worst outing of season in Week 14 vs Titans

gettyimages-2250580514.jpg

The Cleveland Browns’ defense was a big letdown against the Titans, having their worst performance of the season against arguably the worst offense. Cam Ward looked pedestrian, but still threw for a career-high two touchdown passes. The real story was the run defense, where they just allowed gaping runs to Tony Pollard on plays that really weren’t even that special.

Below, we analyze the snap counts and stats on defense for the Cleveland Browns’ Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans

Defensive Line

PosPlayerPlays% SnapsStats
DLMyles Garrett5989%4 tackles (4 combined). 1 sack, 3 TFL, 2 QH, 1 pass defended.
DLMason Graham4568%2 tackles, 1 assist (3 combined). 1 TFK.

DLShelby Harris3858%1 tackle, 3 assists (4 combined). 1 TFL.
DLSam Kamara3350%1 tackle, 2 assists (3 combined). 1 TFL.
DLMike Hall2741%1 assist (1 combined).
DLCameron Thomas2030%No stats registered.
DLIsaiah McGuire1421%1 QH.
  • Myles Garrett only had one sack, but also added a couple more tackles for a loss. I thought there were times where Cleveland in general tried to go too pass-rush heavy with wide alignments of Garrett, and Tennessee accounted for it wisely. Garrett was the second-highest graded player on defense by PFF, grading out to an 83.7.
  • Alex Wright was also effective in his return to action, playing 65% of the snaps. Isaiah McGuire had a smaller role, only playing in 21% of the snaps.
  • Maliek Collins was missed up the middle, as Shelby Harris graded out to a 50.2 from PFF, and Mike Hall was the team’s lowest-graded defender at a 38.4. Hall’s run defense was graded worst on the team, which is a concerning trend if you’re looking forward to next season with him. Sam Kamara, meanwhile, continues to deliever quality reps in a rotational role.

Linebacker

  • Carson Schwesinger led the team again with 12 tackles, and was the Browns’ third-highest graded defender with an 81.6 from PFF.
  • Devin Bush one-upped him, no doubt boosted from his interception that set up a score for Cleveland. Bush was the Browns’ highest-graded defender, grading out to a 90.3 from PFF.

Cornerback

PosPlayerPlays% SnapsStats
CBTyson Campbell5685%2 tackles, 1 assist (3 combined). 1 pass defended.
CBMyles Harden4568%1 tackle, 3 assists (4 combined). 1 TFL.
CBDenzel Ward4467%2 tackles, 2 assists (4 combined).
CBSam Webb1421%2 assists (2 combined).
  • Denzel Ward exited the game early to injury, but it was another mediocre performance for him, as his run defense and tackling suffered this week.
  • Tyson Campbell continues his strong season with Cleveland and was the fifth-highest graded player on defense, grading out to a 73.3 by PFF.

SDonovan McMillon23%No stats registered.
  • The Browns’ safeties have seen better days, as Grant Delpit and Ronnie Hickman had tackling issues and weren’t in the best position with their run defense either.

Browns roster: 6 moves Tuesday including a season-ending injury for RB

gettyimages-2234084702.jpg

The Cleveland Browns have been officially eliminated from playoff contention (despite being able to tie for the AFC North lead), and all eyes turn toward the future. QB Shedeur Sanders opened some of those eyes with his huge performance in Week 14, despite the loss, and, along with rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr., is up for AFC Rookie of the Week.

The next few games could cause a ripple effect heading into the Browns 2026 offseason, as seen here in our recent 2026 NFL mock draft. The next three games will be a step up in difficulty for Sanders and the Cleveland offense, made more difficult by injuries that are setting up a look at the future.

On Tuesday, the Browns made six moves on their roster with at least two more to come:

  • Placed OL Ethan Pocic, RB Jerome Ford (shoulder) on injured reserve
  • Released DE Ochaun Mathis and LB Mark Robinson from the practice squad
  • Signed OL Darrian Dalcourt and DT Keith Cooper Jr. to the practice squad

As noted in the team’s press release, Dalcourt, a center, was undrafted in 2024 and played on three different practice squads, while Cooper was undrafted this year and spent time with the Detroit Lions.

Neither has seen an NFL snap.

The Browns moves on Tuesday leave two spots available on the 53-man roster. One could be filled by QB Deshaun Watson if he returns from injured reserve.

Browns Shedeur Sanders: QB has chance to change 2026 NFL draft plans

gettyimages-2250595110.jpg

The Cleveland Browns have officially announced that Shedeur Sanders will be the starter for the remainder of the 2025 season. With the Browns now giving Sanders a genuine opportunity to prove himself as the starter, their outlook for the 2026 quarterback plan may be shifting. With four weeks to go in the season, what would the team need to see from Sanders to commit to him as the future and not draft a first-round quarterback in the 2026 draft?

Sanders has already shown significant improvement in his limited starts this season — and Kevin Stefanski has said he’s highly encouraged by Sanders’ development, noting steady, consistent progress. For him to stay on this path, he must show growth in decision-making, quick processing in high-pressure situations, and better avoidance of significant turnovers.

Many rookie quarterbacks struggle with making good decisions under pressure at the NFL level because the game moves so much faster than it did in college. It takes time to get used to this change of pace, and if Sanders can continue to get more comfortable with making the right reads when the pocket collapses, Cleveland will have more confidence in his ability to lead this team moving forward.

Let me know what you think in the comments – What do the Browns need to see from Sanders in the final four games to not draft a QB in 2026?

Browns add some familiar faces to the roster

gettyimages-1765687507.jpg

The Cleveland Browns welcomed back a few familiar faces to the building as the club deals with the loss of a pair of players to injured reserve and some ongoing injury issues.

First up, the Browns signed offensive tackle Jeremiah Byers off the practice squad of the Arizona Cardinals, running back Trayveon Williams from the practice squad of the Los Angeles Chargers, and cornerback Tre Avery from their own practice squad.

The 6-foot-4 and 320-pound Byers originally signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent from Florida State. He began his collegiate career at UTEP, making 30 starts over four seasons and earning a first-team All-Conference USA selection in 2022. He then transferred to Florida State, where he made 22 starts at right tackle in two years with the Seminoles.

His athletic testing was not the greatest, however, which led him to go undrafted.

Jeremiah Byers is a OG prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 7.92 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 362 out of 1736 OG from 1987 to 2025.

— RAS.football (@MathBomb) April 27, 2025

With right tackle Jack Conklin still dealing with a concussion, Byers could be in line for a backup role this week against the Chicago Bears.

Cleveland had the 5-foot-8 and 206-pound Williams “in the building,” as all the cool kids like to say during the preseason, where he played in three games, rushing seven times for 30 yards, and catching five passes for 33 yards. The Browns released him on roster cutdown day and then signed him to the practice squad, but saw the Chargers sign Williams in late October.

Williams appeared in three games with the Chargers, rushing three times for minus-1 yard, and catching one pass for zero yards.

One under the radar Chargers performer from SNF vs. Steelers I'd like to highlight: RB Trayveon Williams (#38).
-Did a nice job on his two kick returns, gave the team some juice they've lacked since letting Nyheim Hines go
-a dominant rep in punt protection: pic.twitter.com/KtsyRtPcTL

— Alex Insdorf (@alexinsdorf99) November 12, 2025

Originally a sixth-round selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 NFL Draft, Williams spent six seasons with the Bengals. In 68 career games in Cincinnati, he only had 62 carries for 307 yards and no touchdowns, while adding 15 receptions for 74 yards.

He did log 873 snaps on special teams for the Bengals, and another 38 with the Chargers, so he can be an asset in that part of the game. And with running back Jerome Ford now on injured reserve, Williams could see some playing time in the return game on Sunday.

The 5-foot-11 and 185-pound Avery has played in six games with the Browns this season and has seven tackles while playing primarily on special teams.

In a corresponding transaction, the team waived safety Christoper Edmonds, who appeared in five games this season, almost exclusively on special teams.

— Camryn Justice (@camijustice) October 16, 2024

Finally, the Browns signed defensive tackle Maurice Hurst II to the practice squad.

The 6-foot-2 and 290-pound Hurst was with the Browns in 2023 and 2024, playing in 21 games and posting a fumble recovery, two sacks, an interception, and 38 tackles, including eight tackles for loss.

After ending the 2024 season on injured reserve, Hurst entered free agency but did not sign with a team. Now in his eighth season, Hurst has played in 63 career games, with 116 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and three fumble recoveries while playing for the Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and the Browns.

To make room for Hurst, the team released defensive tackle Simeon Barrow Jr. from the practice squad. practice squad.

5 quick hitters with Windy City Gridiron: Ben Johnson’s influence on the Bears, and the pass rush Shedeur Sanders will face

gettyimages-2234938498.jpg

This Sunday, the Cleveland Browns are on the road as they take on the Chicago Bears in Week 15. To help preview a few topics from the Bears’ perspective, we reached out to Bill Zimmerman from Windy City Gridiron and exchanged five questions with him.

gettyimages-2234938498.jpg

Chris: “I know the Bears had some big changes during the offseason, but what have been the top reasons for their turnaround from last year to this year?”

Bill: “This answer is simple: Ben Johnson. As a fan base, we’re in love. Ben Johnson was everything he was hyped up to be. He has set a culture that the locker room has desperately needed, the team is buying into it all, and the offense is top 10 in several different categories, which is not something we are used to in Chicago. The success that Johnson has brought in year one has put the Bears’ fan base in such a good mindset because they know the team is ahead of schedule, they are enjoying how fun this season is, and everyone has a lot of hope that we are on the cusp of something here in Chicago, where perhaps the Bears can finally have sustained success. The Bears have only had back-to-back seasons with double-digit wins once since Mike Ditka was fired in 1992.”

Chris: “What do you view as the Bears’ biggest weakness right now?”

Bill: “The pass rush. The passing game is inconsistent, the secondary can give up big plays, but the biggest issue is the pass rush, and it has been all season long. One of their starting Edges, Dayo Odeyingbo, is out for the year, and he wasn’t producing before that anyway. Grady Jarrett hasn’t made a big impact this season. Gervon Dexter doesn’t win consistently enough either. The only pass rusher the Bears have up front is Montez Sweat. Sweat is a good pass rusher; he isn’t a great pass rusher. You can expect him to affect a handful of passing plays in this game, but he certainly isn’t a game-wrecker like Myles Garrett. DC Dennis Allen relies on blitzes, largely from the secondary, to create pressure.”

Chris: “Which of the Bears’ 2025 draft picks has been the most regular contributor thus far?”

Bill: “It’s funny to say this because the Bears have had contributors from their rookie class. First round pick Colston Loveland has become a reliable target over the last few weeks, second round picks WR Luther Burden and OT Ozzy Trapilo have been positive contributors as well, but with all that being said, it’s 7th round pick RB Kyle Monangai. Over the last 8 games, Monangai has averaged 14 carries for 71 yards. That’s 5.1 yards per carry, and he’s also scored 5 touchdowns. D’Andre Swift is still the team’s primary back, but Monangai has become a great between-the-tackles runner who has given the Bears a thunder and lightning combo like Ben Johnson had in Detroit with David Montgomery and Jamhyr Gibbs. No, I am not saying they are as good as those two, just that stylistically, it’s similar.”

Chris: “Tell us about one player who Browns fans may not have heard of, but who could have an impact on this Sunday’s game.”

Bill: “Being we’ve already talked about the rookie running back, let’s move to the defensive side of the ball and discuss CB Nashon Wright. Wright was a 3rd round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, and after a few unsuccessful seasons, he spent the 2024 season on the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad. Coming into this year, he had started 3 career games. Jaylon Johnson has missed almost the entire season, and Wright has stepped in for him and done remarkably well this season. He’s tied for 2nd in the NFL with 5 interceptions. He also blew up the Eagles’ Tush Push in that Black Friday game, crashing down from the side and forcing a fumble from Jalen Hurts. He is a ball hawk. He isn’t the stickiest in coverage, but he does do a great job making plays at the ball. If Sanders puts a few balls in danger, Wright could absolutely come up with another interception. Tyrique Stevenson has been injured the last couple of games since Jaylon Johnson has been back, so Wright has continued to start. Stevenson may or may not play this weekend, so if he does, it’ll be interesting to see how Dennis Allen utilizes Wright, Johnson, Stevenson, and CJ Gardner-Johnson over the three CB spots.dd”

Chris: “The Browns are underdogs against the Bears on Sunday (Browns +7.5 as of this question, per FanDuel Sportsbook). Who would you pick to win the game?”

Bill: “With this game being at home, I can’t see the Bears losing this one. If they do, it’s going to be a low-scoring debacle where the Browns’ defense terrorizes the Bears’ offense, but I believe in Ben Johnson enough to believe he will find some answers for Cleveland’s defense. I think the way Ben Johnson has the Bears’ run game humming, it’s ideal for how cold it’s going to be to have some success on Sunday. I also feel like Dennis Allen should be able to throw some looks at Shedeur Sanders that will confuse him and create the opportunity for some turnovers. Because of Cleveland’s defense and the weather, I don’t think this is going to be a blowout, but the opportunity is certainly there for the Bears to win it comfortably if things go really well. But I have a hunch the Browns will hang in there. I will pick the Bears to win, but the Browns to cover. I’ll call it Bears 20, Browns 16.”

Thanks again to Bill for taking the time to answer my questions.

Browns roster brings back defensive back on Thursday

gettyimages-2229788795.jpg

The Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears might have to face Arctic temperatures in Week 15. The Bears are fighting for their playoff spot and position, while the Browns season is all about the future and QB Shedeur Sanders. Injuries are also dominating the news for Cleveland’s roster, leading to a ton of players missing practice on Wednesday after a load of moves on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

GM Andrew Berry is often active with roster decisions, especially at this time of the season. That continued on Thursday with the return of S Christopher Edmonds, to the Browns practice squad, after being released from the 53-man roster on Wednesday:

Edmonds (6-2, 210) is officially in his first NFL season out of Arizona State. Originally signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2024, Edmonds has appeared in seven career games, including five this season. Edmonds will wear No. 41.

In those seven games, Edmonds has played 113 snaps on special teams and seven on defense and is credited with six combined tackles.

Browns rule out 7 for Week 15 vs Bears, another 5 questionable

gettyimages-2190732112.jpg

Not surprisingly, given where the week started for the Cleveland Browns, injuries will play a bigger role in Week 15 than even the frigid weather is expected to. The Browns can plan around the cold, but not having seven players, including four starters, and another five being questionable, is more difficult to deal with.

While we await the official injury report from both Cleveland and Chicago, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski told the media that the game statuses for 12 players in Week 15:

Out for Browns vs Bears

  • OL Jack Conklin
  • OL Wyatt Teller
  • TE David Njoku
  • CB Denzel Ward
  • RB Dylan Sampson
  • DT Adin Huntington
  • QB Deshaun Watson, who will not be activated from IR this week

Questionable for Browns vs Bears

  • OL Joel Bitonio
  • WR Cedric Tillman
  • DT Mason Graham
  • WR Cedric Tillman
  • OL Zak Zinter
  • WR Malachi Corley

With Ethan Pocic lost to injured reserve, Cleveland will be without four of the team’s five expected starters from the start of the season on the offensive line. If Bitonio and Zinter are not able to play, six of their top seven linemen will be out.

With that many players out and questionable, the Browns may not be able to field a full squad versus the Bears this week.

Browns vs. Bears: Week 15 Need to Know

gettyimages-1872625748.jpg

The Cleveland Browns are on the road Sunday to take on the Chicago Bears in what is expected to be a freezing Soldier Field.

Both teams enter the game off of frustrating losses. In the case of the Browns, it was a defeat to the one-win Tennessee Titans despite a four-touchdown day from rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders. For the Bears, it was a loss to a divisional rival in the Green Bay Packers that put an end to Chicago’s brief stay as the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

Cleveland is playing with an eye on 2026, while Chicago is hoping to avoid a trap game with the Packers coming to town the following week, and will be looking to win their fifth consecutive home game against the Browns.

In Case You Missed It

A Final Quote

Head coach Kevin Stefanski on preparing for a Chicago team that leads the NFL in interceptions:

“So as a quarterback, you have to understand all those things and then you have to play your position. You got to trust your eyes, you have to trust what you see, and you have to make accurate throws. We have to do a great job with those throws when we’re receivers and tight ends and running backs and securing the catch in those types of situations.

“(The Bears) do a really good job, so it just means that we have to be on top of what we see, and then great in the pass game. But you have to also go into this game understanding that you’re going to have to do your job really, regardless of what’s going on the other side.”

Browns history: DE Paul Wiggin passes away at 91

gettyimages-97761677.jpg

Cleveland Browns defensive end Paul Wiggin, who played 11 years with the team and was a member of the 1964 NFL Championship squad, passed away on Friday.

He was 91.

A sixth-round selection by the Browns in the 1956 NFL Draft, Wiggin went on to play in 146 consecutive games while being named to the Pro Bowl in 1965 and 1967. Beginning in 1960, he started a streak of having at least six sacks for eight consecutive years, hitting a career high of nine in 1960, but also tallying 8.5 in his final season.

In the 1964 title game victory against the Indianapolis Colts, Wiggin recovered a fumble, one of four he had that season, including one that he returned for a touchdown.

Following his retirement from the NFL, Wiggin began a longtime coaching career, first as a defensive coach with the San Francisco 49ers (1968 to 1974), then as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs (1975 to 1977), defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints (1978 to 1979), and head coach of his alma mater at Stanford (1980 to 1983).

We're saddened by the loss of Paul Wiggin, a two-time Pro Bowler and Browns Legend who spent his entire 11-year playing career in Cleveland.

📰 » https://t.co/eV0r7gPh7Z pic.twitter.com/VOjHFy5T03

— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) December 13, 2025

His longest tenure came with the Minnesota Vikings, as he joined the franchise as an assistant coach in 1985 and stayed with the organization for 40 years, first as a coach and then in the personnel department.

Minnesota co-owners Mark and Zygi Wilf released the following statement on the team’s website about Wiggin’s impact on the organization:

“We are tremendously saddened by the passing of longtime Minnesota Vikings coach, scout, and respected NFL figure Paul Wiggin.

Paul’s impact on the game of football spanned decades. His ability to never miss a game over an 11-year NFL career with the Cleveland Browns earned him a spot on the Browns All-Time Team and an induction as a Cleveland Browns Legend. Following his playing days, he served as a head coach at both the collegiate and NFL levels before becoming the Vikings defensive line coach from 1985-1991. If his playing and coaching career wasn’t impressive enough, Paul went on to be one of just a few individuals tasked with building the Vikings personnel department from the ground up. He remained a member of the personnel staff for more than 30 years.

We had the honor of meeting Paul when we purchased the team in 2005, and it quickly became clear how much he loved the Minnesota Vikings. He captivated staff members and us with his stories about the history of the franchise and the NFL. He cared about players, coaches, and staff, and he wanted nothing more than to win a Super Bowl for Vikings fans. But what Paul was most proud of was his family — his wife, Carolynn, his three daughters, and his growing number of grandchildren.

Our thoughts are with the Wiggin family and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with Paul. His contributions to the Vikings legacy and to the game of football will long be remembered.

Wiggin made 127 starts during his tenure with the Browns, finishing with 60.5 sacks (No. 6 on the franchise’s all-time list), 19 fumble recoveries (No. 2 on the all-time list and the most by a defensive player), two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

He was inducted into the Cleveland Browns Legends program as a member of the Class of 2008.

Sunday Dawg Chow (12/14): Time to put the Bears into hibernation!

The Cleveland Browns will be looking for just their second win of the season against a team with a winning record when they take on the Chicago Bears this afternoon at Soldier Field.

It won’t be an easy task, as Cleveland has not won in Chicago since 1969, and enters the game with four of the five starting offensive linemen from Week 1 sidelined with injuries. And the lone man still standing, left guard Joel Bitonio, is questionable with injuries to his back and knee, which might not be feeling so well on a day where the windchill is expected to be around minus-2 degrees.

Even though they did not win last week, Cleveland’s offense showed a nice spark, especially with the growing connection between quarterback Shedeur Sanders and tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Today may not be a day for the passing game, but it would still be wise to keep an eye on Fannin, especially in the red zone.

There will be a lot of action going on this afternoon, both on the shores of Lake Michigan and across the league, so let’s get the day rolling with the latest news about the Browns and the NFL with the Sunday Dawg Chow.
