Canadiens A No-Show In St. Louis

The Montreal Canadiens started their four-game road trip against the red-hot St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night, and the Habs seemed unable to execute early on. Martin St-Louis’ men needed over 12 minutes to get a shot on net finally, and it was a dump in on a penalty kill. By that time, the host had already tested Samuel Montembeault nine times.

Surging Blues hope to complete season sweep of Predators

The St. Louis Blues continue to play their best hockey when it matters most. A portion of their recent success has come at the expense of the Nashville Predators. The surging Blues eye an eighth straight victory Thursday night when they oppose the Nashville Predators, a team they beat twice already in the past 10 days. St. Louis (38-28-7, 83 points) has jumped into the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference and is a mere two points back of the top wild-card berth thanks to its current 14-2-2 stretch.

Led by ex-Bruins coach, Blues earn ninth straight win

Jim Montgomery's fresh start in in St. Louis has looked vastly different than the beginning of the 2024-25 NHL season in Boston. The St. Louis Blues remain the hottest team in the NHL. Unfortunately for the lowly Nashville Predators, they stood in the way of the Blues adding cushion to their Wild Card spot. With a 3-2 win, St. Louis took down the Preds. The win mathematically eliminated the Predators from the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs and extended their winning streak to eight games.

Blues eye team-record 11th straight win as Pens visit

The St. Louis Blues can tie a team record with a home win Thursday night when they face the Pittsburgh Penguins, but an 11th consecutive win would just be a means to accomplishing a bigger goal. "We just know if we keep winning our games we're going to be in the playoffs, and that's our goal," coach Jim Montgomery said Tuesday after the Blues' 2-1 overtime win against the Detroit Red Wings.
