In Britain professionally basketball isn't a big sport as we don't have big teams and it doesn't get main channel TV coverage but when it comes to a sport just too play it's popular. I've never been much a scorer but I'll trick my way through everything. We usually do 2v2 so I get the ball to near the hoop and then pass it. So anyone else play basketball in Britain.

We don't have any other basketball players in Britain on this forum right now, but I would love to learn more about this. I like to learn about sports leagues in other countries besides the United States. :)

I know of British NBA player such as Joel Freeland on the Portland Trail Blazers as well as Luol Deng and Ben Gordon who once were teammates on the Bulls. I've wondered what professional basketball leagues are like in Britain.

I didn't know it was that popular to play over there. That's pretty cool.

Let's just say 99% of brits couldn't name a single one.

It's just a sport we play for fun rather than professionally. Our Olympic team is probably our best team.

Yeah, I remember hearing that Deng played in Britain. Didn't know that Gordon had also.

I watched them play this summer but they were missing both Gordon and Deng. The NBA is considering bringing teams to Europe in the future and London looks like a big possibility if it does happen. Basketball would become huge I bet, if there was an NBA team.

Well, Cricket isn't a big sport here in states. In fact, most people haven't even heard of it. I don't have any problem with the game though. Nevertheless, a part of me stays true to baseball. :)
