Kon Knueppel just had a wonderful run through the NBA Summer League, leading his Charlotte Hornets all the way to the championship.
Will his great work in the Summer League translate into an explosive rookie season?
Writing on X, Jake Weinbach had huge praise for Knueppel, saying he has a “nice feel for the game.”
Knueppel is in the perfect position to make a huge splash in his first season.
That’s because the Hornets are eager for someone just like him: young, talented, passionate, and ready to play well right away.
Of course, they already have a ton of youthful talent, so how is Knueppel any different?
Even with young stars like LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller running things, the Hornets have continually come up short.
Perhaps, they were just waiting for a missing piece like Knueppel, and things will get better in 2025-26.
But there is a chance that the Hornets are a few years away from being true playoff contenders.
Fans are hoping that isn’t the case.
They know that Charlotte isn’t ready for a championship, but they want to see legitimate and unquestionable developments in the new season.
Knueppel’s work in the Summer League gives them many reasons to be excited, and they are ready to see what he can do next.
He was hailed as a potential superstar when he was selected as the No. 4 pick in last month’s draft, and now Knueppel is showing that he really can be a force of nature for the Hornets.
