Abortion

This poem was written by a girl who goes to my school. It got 1st place in the National March for Life Poetry Contest.

Our Unquestionable Gift

Our Founding Fathers sat one day and declared without a doubt
The rights that God gave to mankind and what they were all about.
The most important they asserted was one endowed to all:
The right to life is guaranteed to persons large and small.
The Principles are these, so listen carefully.
We must protect the life of each who trust so helplessly.
The unborn's voice to us is silent, and though his plea is wordless,
We must listen with our heart as each life has a purpose.
Conception is the beginning; a new soul where there was none.
Why would you end a person's life when it has just begun?
With silent cries the unborn plea with us to be their voice.
Their home cannot be their tomb; life is the only choice.
There can be no exception and not a compromise;
The stage of life does not matter when it comes to saving lives.
If the baby has a handicap, or is severely sick
We must remember life to all is an unquestionable gift.
It is not our place to make the choice of who will live and who will die.
God alone will decide, when it is time for us to say goodbye.
When the lives of mom and babe are threatened, we must not despair;
Our obligation is to make sure they both get equal care.
And now these Principles of Life, so clearly stated and explained
Must be applied and shared with all; let no doubtful souls remain.
We will be the guardians of those who cannot fight,
And upon the Principles of Life together will unite.
Each person with a mind and soul for life he qualifies;
No change can to the rule be made, no exception, no compromise.

Abortion to me in all ramifications is wrong as it harms women. It poses serious short-term and long-term risks to women's physical and emotional health.

I second your view. We should recognize that failure to abort exposes both the infant and the woman to potential suffering for decades.
100% agree, it's better to have an abortion than to have the child raised in a terrible way. How many mothers and fathers are truly awful? You prevent the creation of a dysfunctional family.

But then Unsafe Procedures in cases of illegal or unsafe abortions comes risks including infertility, organ damage, or death.
