Trevor Plouffe is probably the best third baseman in the MLB right now. Just kidding.


In terms of offense, definitely Cabrera, but for defense, I'd go with Michael Young or Headley.

I think Miguel Cabrera is the best third baseman in the MLB, no doubt. You can't deny the triple crown he got last season.

Pedro Alvarez has been mediocre offensively this season though. Offense and defense should be taken into account when deciding who is the best.

Miguel Cabrera is by far the best player in baseball right now. I didn't even have to look at any of the other names. Nobody has dominated baseball this much in a long time. Miguel Cabrera could win the Triple Crown again, and likely will be named MVP. He is on pace for almost 200 RBI's.

I was responding to when Ozzie said "the best defensive player is Young or Headley". Alvarez isn't even in the same league as Cabrera overall though.
