Okay, on Baseball Tonight, i watched it like a month ago and a commentator said that the Rays are the 5th best team in the MLB.
Then, this week, i watched Baseball Tonight, and one commentator said that the Rays were going to win the World Series. They talked about if the Rays were struggling in the season, they could trade Carl Crawford or Carlos Pena(Especially Crawford because he takes up alot of salary)
I don't agree with it because Carl Crawford is their speed guy who steals bases and makes big defensive plays. And Carlos Pena is their biggest homerun guy.
One commentator said that the Rays pitching staff would struggle, and i agree with this, Matt Garza, James Shields, and David Price won't cut it.
They talked about they Rays getting rid of Pat Burrell, a DH, and going out and getting Carlos Delgado(Who is a free agent) I think they should do that, and sign him for a one year deal.
I also think they should go out and sign free agent John Smoltz.
He is 42 years old, yes he is old, I think the Rays should go out and get him cheap for a one year deal. He used to be really good, and I think he can still go out and pitch good.
I think the Rays should get him also because he will be a good inspiration for younger pitchers like David Price. I bet Smoltz can teach him a few things too.
Even though another commentator said that the Rays won't be able to beat the Red Sox and Yankees,
If all these things can work out, I think the Rays have a good chance to go all the way this year.

i agree tht they need a better pitcher but idk if smoltz is the guy but carlos delgado would be a good addition

Well thats funny because one of my friends said th the Rays have a better chance of going all the way then the Padres do!

Yes, he can produce way better than Pat Burrell, and the Rays can get him for alot less.
I think John Smoltz is risky, but i would role the dice with him, with a small 1 year deal, 2 veterans, one in the 500 HR Club, and the other one of the best pitchers of his era, should be a great addition.

it might very well be the padres vs rays in the world series this year. I have a feeling my padres will be really good this year!

The Rays do have a better chance of going all the way than the Padres.
I don't see lightening striking for both our teams though. lol

Maybe.
The Rays need to get their first World Series for sure though.
They became a team in the 90's.
They have lost the World Series once, which was against the Phillies.
When it was Longoria's rookie year.

its not that I follow them but they talked about it on the radio and they said that since they cant afford some of their players that they might sell the rays but idk I really dont like the sports talk radio host that said that so idk!

Idk, on Baseball Tonight, they were talking about money issues, like half the Rays salary cap goes towards Carl Crawford, or something like that.
