I think Chicago are the favorites after sweeping the Western Conference Finals against the 1st seed Sharks.

But, then you look at how the Flyers breeze through the Canadiens. The same Canadiens that beat both the Capitals and Penguins. 3 shutouts in a series that went 5 games is also pretty impressive.

For those who are superstitious you must be loving the Flyers taking the cup.

We all know what happends when Pronger goes to a new team: they go to the final. It happend in Edmonton (didn't win the cup, but as a 8th seed still went all the way. And haven't made the playoffs since...) and in Anaheim (this time he won the cup. But Anaheim missed the playoffs after he left...). Now, he's made it with Philadelphia.

Then you have Hossa. Poor guy. When he was with the Penguins, the Red Wings beat them, winning the cup. So what does he do? Sign with the Red Wings. And what happens? The Penguins beat them and win the cup. Now for the 3rd straight time, Hossa is in the final on a new team (he's the 1st to do this btw). The Blackhawks I'm guessing don't feel that Hossa is bad luck...

So, this series has been molded perfectly for those believing in these two ''curses''. And that would mean Philadelphia would easily win the Stanley Cup. What do I think? I gotta admit, its weird that these two teams seem to be following their ''curse rules''. It really is. But its hard to say how this series will go. I can guarantee its going all 7 games. And I'm gonna take the safe pick and say...... Flyers in 7.

Pronger can deal with Byfuglien in front of the Flyers net. Leighton is glowing with confidence (as is Niemi). But the Flyers have so many offensive weapons. And are great defensively. Look at their playoffs so far. Eased by the Devils in 5 games, surprised everybody by coming back from that 3-0 series deficit to beat the Bruins in 7, and pretty much manhandled the Habs in 5. The Blackhawks, well they beat Nashville, Vancouver and San Jose without playing one game 7. Thats good too, but the Flyers seem to have done more. So yeah, Flyers in 7 games.

Good luck to both teams!

I am going to give the slight edge to the Flyers in 7. I am concerned for the Flyers though b/c the Hawks have so much secondary scoring on top of their top guys. If the Flyers can eliminate the top guys and most of the secondary ones they will win in 7, if not the Hawks will win it in 5.

The Flyers have good secondary scoring too.
