    8 years at 9.5 per. He could have probably fetched more on the FA market. This isn't so much a bad contract as it just bad cap management. Malkin is not a bad "cap eater" at all ;)

    I think a make or break contract for him, I expect his brothers will help him finally make that jump to the big league. Hard to imagine a Staal being a minor league player.

    Not a good contract at all. Letang is too much of a one-dimensional defenceman to deserve that kind of money. Unless he really works on his defensive game, this contract will never be a good one IMO. But this is just consistent with the rest of the league which seems to love overpaying it's...
