Which modern tech has actually made life feel more complex to you?

Modern technology was meant to make life easier and sure they do. But some modern technology has made life more complex.

I was in a smart home and I found out that switching on the light bulb needs a smartphone, a firmware sync and good internet connection. That's complex. It takes two seconds to turn on the light bulb in a non smart home.

Is there any other piece of modern tech that has made life more complex for you?

I've always felt that smart home tech adds complexity instead of simplicity. I tried a smart TV and its setup was a circus of firmware updates, multiple apps, and different remotes. Just wanting to watch a movie turns into a hard mission.

I just some techs can be complicated for use until you are really familiar with it. Even some smartphones can be complex to use.

Yep. I guess manufacturers love to see us fumbling with these gadgets.
Just imagine the amount of time we cumulatively spend trying to understand these techs.

I never thought of it that way, but it seems like it, doesn't it? It's like they have some kind of fetish, haha.

I also suppose that age plays a role; it's not the same, but young people or those who grow up with that technology are different from those who have no idea about it and it appeared later in their lives.

That's right because I know that they are sone older generation that find it very difficult to operate their smartphones. They find it really complicated.
