I need to vent something.

I go to open gym at my school and I always play hard defense. Really hard. so hard that if you try to cross me up you will have that ball stripped from you so fast. Everybody and i really mean everybody never plays defense. they always stand around and just let each other score. I get asked if I'm mentally ill or "happy" by these stupid kids who I shut down. I even shut down varsity players and I'm a freshman. I have my hands in their face constantly and every time I "put a body" on them they cry foul when it's cleanse NOT A STUPID FOUL. Then there's this other kid who thinks he's all that when all he can do is hit an open jump shot. everybody can do that! I " pulled the chair out from underneath him" ( its a basketball term that means I made him lean into me and then a quickly step stack away from him so he'd fall to the ground. It's legal and is used in the NBA commonly" . He fell and cried foul and when I went to give him a hand, he said exactly " F**K YOU!" My basketball coach is all about offense. all he cares about is how well you shoot. When the NBA and college is now focusing on a more defensive game. I go Bruce Bowen on every player I face. But I'm not a dirty player. i never lay a finger on anyone. i just get my hands up in their face and try to read the passing lanes. ( I already have like 10 steals in 3 games). I always box out for a rebound and go up against 6'2" guys when I'm only 5'6" and get the rebound . but nobody cares about the little things or dense anymore. There's no such thing as "physical basketball " anymore thanks to all these stupid refs and stupid players who cry foul every stupid play. It ticks me off. I wish I was playing in the '90s when basketball was actually more physical and you had guys like Reggie miller and MJ going up against each other hard. those were the fun days.

DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE

defense wins games , standing around and chucking up shots doesn't

I agree. I don't think that's everywhere though, in the league I'm in most of the teams play pretty good defense and our coach gets mad if we play crappy defense.

wow. Thats was really deep. :)

Exactly, but the reason the NBA isn't as physical like the good old 90's is David Stern's problem for adding the hand checking foul. So I guess this has been an example to kids to do same and not be as focused on defense.

"Sometimes the best offense is defense". I can't remember where I heard that, but most of the time it seems to be true.

True, but no fast break offense like 2005-2010 Suns has ever one an NBA championship it has to be a good combination of both.
