Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander has been named the AL Cy Young award winner. He went 24-5, had 250 strikeouts, and had an ERA of 2.40.

This was expected, but now the question is, will he win the AL MVP next Monday?

What do you guys think?

I really hope he doesn't get MVP. The Cy Young is basically the Most Valuable Pitcher.

He better win it. He just plain out dominated everyone on a pretty crappy team.

They won their division, you know...they weren't that crappy.

I really hope he doesn't win the MVP, even though he might deserve it. That what they have Cy Young for, it's essentially Most Valuable Pitcher.

I think if Verlander doesn't win it, Curtis Granderson will.
