Summit diagnosed with dementia.

Tennessee's Woman Basketball coach, Pat Summit, has been diagnosed with early onset dementia, but she says she still plans to coach.

It will be her 38th season coaching the Lady Vol's.

She told Knoxville News Sentinel Monday evening: ""There's not going to be any pity party and I'll make sure of that."

I really don't know what dementia is, but I think I've heard of it. Summit is a great coach, and it's good to see her still coach.

She is a great coach and it is great that she is going to continue to coach.

It's just sad that she has Dementia.

Dementia is the same thing as Alzheimer's; it slowly deteriorates your brain.

The disease is terrible, my grandmother had it...You basicaly will be yourself until a few years into it, where you will not remember names, places, numbers, ect. It gets really bad when you don't remember any people even your close family, and cannot take care of yourself at all due to the deteriation of the brain.
