The Pittsburgh Steelers will reportedly not keep Hines Ward on the team.

Ward said he "plans on playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and going from there" last week.

Ward has said he plans on playing next year, despite rumors of possible retirement.

It's going to be so weird seeing Ward in any other jersey....

Thoughts?

It's definitely gonna be weird seeing him in a new jersey, assuming he doesn't retire, the Steelers don't keep him, and another team picks him up.

That's a big assumption, though.

I'm thinking he will retire rather than play on another team.

I don't see them keeping him. He should go ahead and call it a career. No Brett Favre crap please. I will really miss him. He's been my favorite football player since I was in elementary school. He has been the true face of the Steelers franchise this past decade. He just has an amazing love for the game that earns your respect. He's a tough receiver that is not only know for his catches, but his blocks as well. He has a priceless smile. I've seen it many times throughout the many Steelers games I have watched. He's the type of player that smiles no matter what. He could make a big mistake running a route, drop a pass, or something, and he'll walk back to the huddle with a smile on his face. He should be a hall of famer soon, but you never really know with the way the hall of fame ballot has been lately.

Truer words have never been spoken.

I remember watching a game a couple years ago, against the Titans I believe. It was late in the 4th quarter, in the red zone, and a tie game. He had the ball and fumbled it, giving the Titans the ball and possibly the Titans a chance to win it. Soon after, he was on the sideline smiling. ;D

That's literally how he is. Even in the rarity that he makes mistakes like that.

The Steelers ended up winning that game, I think. They have only lost one game against the Titans in the past eight years or so, and that was a blowout.

I expected this thread to be made by Cmt. But sad news for the Steelers, he will be a Steeler legend.
