Check out the latest news on your Dallas Stars.

Joe Pavelski has been keeping busy since his retirement from professional hockey this past offseason. While you may not see Joe Pavelski on the ice anymore, you can catch him on the green. D Magazine contributor Sean Shapiro had the opportunity to catch up with Pavs on what life has been like off the ice. Per Shapiro: You may be asking yourself, what is his first “professional”…

The Dallas Stars never stand still. The NHL may be on break, but some of the team’s biggest stars are preparing to play in the 4 Nations Face-Off, beginning tonight. And meanwhile, the front office is putting the final touches on another of the biggest international events of the year. With another Stars-hosted IIHF tournament fast approaching, Stars senior staff writer Mike Heika devoted his…

Watching the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off? Need a place to talk about your favorite Dallas Stars, playing their hearts out for their home countries? Here’s your game-day thread for the entire event. The tournament, which replaces the usual All-Star Break this year, marks a return to international best-on-best competition for the NHL. You can also consider it an appetizer for the 2026 Winter…

Well. That got ugly in a hurry. The Finns, obviously missing a key cog on defense, got pounced on by a hungry USA team in the 4 Nations Face-Off last night. To be fair, the game was a lot more competitive through two periods – then the dam broke loose. The Tkachuk brothers, Brady and Matt, spent the night trying to one-up each other as if it were pond hockey. Say whatever you want about their…

We’re officially underway with the 4 Nations Face-Off, and what a start it was. Early reviews are in, and people seem sold on this format over the typical NHL All-Star game. I have to agree. Watching games that the players actual care about during the break is a revelation. I’m curious how this shakes out in the upcoming years, whether it expands (Russia still on the outside looking in)…

Looking past the horizon to the Four Nations Face-Off. I’d like to give a personal welcome to all the new Dallas Stars fans that have arrived from the Mavs. We have snacks, and, more importantly, a GM who loves us. With that on the brain, I’ve been thinking quite a bit about the moves the Stars made to acquire Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci, along with just what else they might have in mind…

You cannot win them all, and the Dallas Stars reminded us of that fact with last night’s 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. To be fair, the Disney Squad isn’t even the worst team in the Pacific Division this year — and let’s face it, John Gibson is still John Gibson (although why John Gibson is still a Duck is one of those mysteries that doesn’t bear a great deal of contemplation). But that doesn’…

The Stars have the opportunity to extend their winning streak to nine games before they break for the Four Nations Faceoff which begins on February 12th. Tonight will be the second game where…

Plenty of Dallas Stars fans have learned to Trust the ‘Stache in the past several years. But GM Jim Nill’s trade for Mikael Granlund is showing results in ways we may not have thought about. Stars senior staff writer Mike Heika explores the instant impact of the newest Finnish mafioso in his latest feature, written after Team Finland exited the 4 Nations Face-Off: Granlund…

If you’ve been plugged into the hockey world this past week, then you’ve been enjoying the fireworks that have been set off by the 4 Nations Face-Off. It’s been an entertaining tournament to say the least and has far exceeded the expectations of many, given how lackluster All-Star weekends have gone recently (and beyond the NHL). Stars’ forward Matt Duchene shares the same sentiments following an…

The 4 Nations Tournament break is over (congratulations to Thomas Harley!) and the Dallas Stars return to action tomorrow evening. What’s more, the trade deadline is just two weeks away, meaning if General Manager Jim Nill has any additional moves to make, he’s running out of time to do so. Nill has already made a one major move, sending this year’s first round pick and a conditional third…

Although it was disappointing that the U.S. didn’t come out on top last night, the 4 Nations Face-Off itself was far from that. The tournament ended with just as much excitement as it did when it started, far exceeding the expectations of most. There is no question that the National Hockey League redefined the All-Star break, not just for itself, but for other major sports as well.
