MILWAUKEE -- A day of rest did Giancarlo Stanton good.
After sitting out Friday's series opener, the Marlins' slugger hit a 462-foot missile to center field off Brewers starter Chase Anderson in the fourth inning on Saturday.

According to Statcast™, Stanton's home run had an exit velocity of 117 mph and a launch angle of 23 degrees.

Wow what a bomb! 462ft home run is very impressive!  Did anyone see this? This might be the longest home run hit this year!

Wow, impressive.

I will say the field makes it look not as much so. With open stadiums, the feel of the ball leaving the park is awesome. When it's guaranteed to stay in no matter what, that kinda dampens the 'oomph!'

Stanton, in my view will never be close to be worth his contract unless he can prove he can stay on the field the whole year. But when he's healthy and he gets a hold of one, wow, just wow. I didn't see this one but I've seen a few where it seriously looked like he just dropped the barrel of the bat on it effortlessly and it was a missile that cleared the wall AND stadium in LA. Hitting one out of any ballpark is impressive -- Dodger Stadium, what a beast. Marlins are always a fun team to watch with him on the field.

That shot to the chops by a pitch is what kept him out for a while. I think that sort of slowed his development as a player. Hitting home runs like that only makes him suspect in my book. I know the guy is big, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him test positive for PED's.

The man is a great player, but as someone else mentioned, if he doesn't stay healthy, he's not going to be worth the money they are paying him. I will say that homer the other day was outstanding. Some ballparks are built in a way that I think that homers look way more dramatic than others. Not that it really matters to me, a homer is a homer, but it does look better on the highlight reel.
