Roland Garros (French Open) starts this sunday and as it's getting usual in the last few years, Rafael Nadal is no longer the only favourite for the title. Novak Djokovic again is the number one favourite but will still carry the mental scars of having blew the last 2 years losing the final to Nadal in 2014 and then losing to Wawrinka last year, perhaps the best chance that he has had to win the title so far. A dark horse would be Andy Murray, that comes from a great win in Rome, but everything will depend on the draw, as he may have to face Nadal before Djokovic in the final. Who do you think will be the champion this year?

So far (4th day of the tournament), there has been no major upsets. Perhaps the most surprising results have been in both Andy Murray matches, where he had to fend off Radek Stepanek and Mathias Bourge in 5 sets! Stepanek (ranking 128) is on his last legs and probably on the verge of retirement, and he was on the verge of victory against Murray on the first round. Bourge is ranked 164! and was one set away from a shocking victory.

Who knows what the hell is going on inside Murray's head but at least his matches have been entertaining, let's hope he manages to pick up his form against Ivo Karlovic, another match that could go to 5 sets if Ivo is serving at his best and Murray is still shaky and erratic.

Today is the 6th day of the tournament and there was a huge surprise, not in a match result but off the court. Nadal has decided to retire from the tournament due to a wrist injury. It's still unknown if he will be able to play in the next Grand Slam tournament (Wimbledon). This pretty much clears Djokovic path to the final and to what should be his first Roland Garros title and the Carrer Grand Slam achievement.
