The Miami Marlins have traded infielder Hanley Ramirez, along with pitcher Randy Choate, to the LA Dodgers in exchange for Nathan Eovaldi and a minor leaguer, who some reports say is pitcher Scott McGough.

Ramirez, a 3-time all-star, led all shortstops in the league in homeruns from 2006 to 2010 with 126 homers, but has been hitting only .246 so far this season with the Marlins.

Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon is sidelined with a torn ligament, and 3B Juan Uribe has been hitting only .190, so Ramirez could hop in and fill either one of those spots.

This trade comes a day after Miami sent Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez to the Tigers for P Jacob Turner, P Brian Flynn, and C Rob Brantly.

Thoughts on the trade?

Hanley Ramirez is a stud, so I'm surprised by this. It was clear something was up when the Marlins got José Reyes and forced Hanley Ramirez to move to third base, but I still didn't expect this.
