Yankees catcher, Jorge Posada, has retired after 17 seasons in the MLB (all with New York.)

With the Yankees showing no intent on resigning him, he decided he didn't want to play for anyone else.

In his 17 seasons, he had 1,065 RBI's, 275 homers (8th most in Yankee history), and batted for a .273 average.

Right behind Jeter, he was probably my 2nd favorite Yankee. Hall of Famer for sure.

whaaaaat. Probably my favourite Yankee. Lol I used to love the Yankees. :P Anyways, yeah he should make the HoF.

He's the only other Yankee (besides Jeter) that I actually have some respect for.

What a solid career he had!

I was kind of hoping the Rays would pull some strings to sign him. He's a veteran player that can at least make an impact on the young players in the Rays organization. He would be a pretty good impression. That was part of their plans with the signing of Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez last year, but you see how that turned out? They got their moneys worth out of Damon, but not Manny. He tested positive for some drug or something and was gone before you could notice his presence in the Rays lineup.

He had an amazing career and he's played long enough to retire anyways if he only want to play for the Yankees. I have a lot of respect for those player that can stay with one organization in a long career.
