Towns drops 40 as Knicks maul Pacers, Sixers flop

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 40 points as the New York Knicks blew past the Indiana Pacers 128-115 in the latest instalment of the two clubs' bitter NBA rivalry on Tuesday. The Pacers-Knicks rivalry is one of the most intense in the NBA, reaching its zenith in the 1990s when the two teams met in the playoffs on six occasions between 1993 and 2000.

Jordan Poole says he's 'extremely hard to stop' after 42-point night vs. Pacers

It's one thing to be on a hot streak, but Jordan Poole has two 40-plus point games within the last few days. The Washington Wizards' leader showed out during his 42-point outing vs. the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, and he couldn't have taken more momentum into the All-Star break. Poole was on a confidence high in the locker room after the game. Indeed, Poole's mixture of off-dribble shooting and high-speed drives at the rim makes him a dynamic scorer that's nearly impossible to guard one-on-one.

Alex Len Offers More Details Regarding Decision to Spurn Pacers For Lakers

The Indiana Pacers were expected to sign veteran center Alex Len to help bolster their frontcourt but just before he signed with the team, Len changed course. It was announced that Len would not be landing with Indiana and instead that he would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers. While Len likely wouldn't have played major minutes for the Pacers, this decision still hurt the team. Len was expected to give this Pacers team another big body in the frontcourt which is an area that has hurt them all year.

Pacers All-Star break was outstanding, even if NBA All-Star weekend was just fine

The Pacers went 3-3 in their last six games before the All-Star break, but all six games revealed a team that was running on fumes, desperate for a reset to get through the remainder of the regular season. For those of us watching all of those games, the 134-130 OT win over the Washington Wizards (aka the worst team in the NBA), the All-Star break was a much needed respite from the wretched recipe the Pacers were relying on. The fact the Pacers went 3-3 during this stretch is impressive even if it was painful to watch. Fortunately, Obi Toppin (31 points, 10 rebs) and Bennedict Mathurin (28 points) showed up like beasts in the second half against the Wiz, to help avoid a devastating loss prior to the break.
