The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly trading disgruntled LB Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, ending a dispute that once again put Owner/GM Jerry Jones in the national spotlight. He claims he had a deal with Parsons, but once his agent got involved it all fell apart. Jones seemed confident a deal would get done, and wasn’t listening trade offers, but rumors about interest from Green Bay persisted.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys are sending their All-Pro defender to the Packers for two first round picks and DT Kenny Clark. He has also agreed to a 4-year, $188 million deal that includes $136 million guaranteed. Parsons stays in the NFC, but exits the NFC East and the Washington Commanders annual two game schedule. Washington is visiting Green Bay in Week 2 for Thursday Night Football, so they’ll still see Parsons once this season. He was dealing with a back issue that required a second opinion, but this new deal could lead to a miraculous recovery for a Week 1 debut with the Packers.
