The Miami Marlins have hired former MLB catcher Mike Redmond as their new manager. This will be Redmond's first attempt at managing an MLB team. Redmond has spent the last 2 seasons managing Class A teams for the Blue Jays.
Redmond played for the Marlins for 7 years, and was part of their 2003 World Series team; he was a career .287 hitter. He also played for the Twins for 5 seasons and the Indians for 1, before retiring.
I was a big fan of Redmond while he was with the Twins, so it's pretty cool to see him again as a manager this time.
