Manny Ramirez has agreed to a deal worth around $500k with the Oakland A's.

He won't, however, be able to play in any games before June 2nd against the Kansas City Royals, due to a 50-game drug suspension.

This will be Manny's 20th season in the MLB. He played in 5 games last year for the Rays, in which he only had 1 hit, batting for .059 in 17 at bats.

Thoughts?

Stupid move but whatever. Manny's never gonna retire.

My thoughts exactly. He's gotten to the point where he doesn't actually produce for the team he's on, but doesn't see that, so just decides to keep playing, since someone will always inevitably sign him.

He will be the DH I would expect. I don't expect him to be running around in LF all season. :P

That's all athletes seem to care about these days...

But that's just the thing, I'm sure he has much more money than most retired people... I don't know, I guess greediness is much worse when you're already rich.
