Loud Noises

So if for example you were at the dentist and you had to listen to a machine that has a loud noise or if you're passing construction or hearing a loud noise for any other reason even if it's a fire alarm how do you react? Usually it will echo in my hear for a very long time which can be annoying.

I used to get freaked out over the fire drills, because I didn't know they were coming.

We have some morons shooting fireworks off during the day, and they surprise Mom and I. We thought they were gun shots or something.

I typically don't cover my ears during fire drills or things like that, but when I am caught of guard by a noise that I didn't expect, I may cover my ears.

I go to quite a few metal concerts, and there's not a lot of things louder than that, so loud noises don't effect me that much anymore. Loud noises do scare me when they're unexpected though.

I cannot bear the continuous barking of dogs. We have one here who does that and the owner is least bothered. I have no other alternative but to tolerate it.
