4 Nations Face-Off: Preview & Discussion Thread

With the majority of National Hockey League players preparing to enjoy a mid-season break, 92 of them will instead be heading to Montreal & Boston to take part in the NHL & NHLPA’s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. Teams representing four of the world’s hockey-craziest nations, the 7 game schedule will allow the top players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, & the United States to show off their skills.

Deadline Moves by Past Cup Champs

Before I switch my attention to the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off, I decided to tackle some questions that have been bothering me for a while. Based on the comments I read on hockey blogs, in PuckPedia’s GM mode, and even in articles by the professional experts in the media…your team MUST add players at the deadline if they really want to win the Stanley Cup. And a lot of them typically go farther…

Preview: NY Islanders @ Winnipeg Jets

With only three days left in the NHL’s regular season schedule before the 4 Nations Face-Off kicks off, our Winnipeg Jets are preparing for their final match before the break. At this point in time, only Connor Hellebuyck (US), Josh Morrissey (CAN), and Kyle Connor (US) will be missing out on some rest & relaxation, although there is still a chance Mark Scheifele gets tapped as an injury…

When you are on top, you have to expect challengers to come and try to knock you off your pedestal. That is something the NHL’s league leading Winnipeg Jets have to keep in mind as they prepare for their next contest. After knocking off the closest competition for the Presidents’ Trophy (Washington Capitals) on Saturday, our squad has another tough match up on their hands with the Carolina…

Breaking Down the Winnipeg Jets Season

Coming off their epic heavyweight clash against the Washington Capitals, our Winnipeg Jets find themselves sitting atop the National Hockey League with an impressive 37-14-3 record. To those in the media that often forget the province of Manitoba exists, the franchise’s success in the 2024-25 campaign has likely raised some eyebrows. But it really shouldn’t….because since the start of last…

Well, the month of February is upon us and what a way to start off a new month….with a hockey match between the NHL’s top two teams!! This Saturday gives us fans the chance to see the best team in the West, the Winnipeg Jets (36-14-3), take on the top squad in the East, the Washington Capitals (34-11-6) in a clash of titans. There are a lot of similarities this season between the two NHL…

Preview: Winnipeg Jets @ Boston Bruins

The Winnipeg Jets will enter Thursday’s game on a 4 game winning streak after a late start in Montreal wasn’t enough to cost them a win against the Canadiens. That hot run is tied for the Jets’ 3rd longest winning streak of the season, only beaten by 8 and 7 game runs during their historic 15-1-0 start to the 2025-26 campaign. Tonight’s opponent will be another Original Six franchise…

As the month of January nears a conclusion leaving us with about 2 and a half more months of regular season hockey on the horizon, the NHL/NHLPA’s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament has also come into view. The True North franchise will suit up for just 5 more games before the mid-season break begins on February 8th, allowing the majority of the players to have a little rest before the final push.

Well, I am off to a late start on Sunday after I got sucked into watching a bunch of seasons of Dexter last night, staying up until the wee hours after continually pressing the “play next episode” button. With less than 5 hours until the puck drops….I better get to work. The Winnipeg Jets will be playing their 51st game of the regular season today at the Canada Life Centre when the Calgary…

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off an exciting overtime victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday thanks to the unworldly play of goalie Connor Hellebuyck and a powerful blast by Neal Pionk in extra time. The absence of captain Adam Lowry in that game allowed the Avs’ top unit to cause plenty of problems for the Jets’ defense, but the overall team effort was much improved from their listless…

Winnipeg Jets: The Final Push

As I sit here getting ready to pen an article about the Winnipeg Jets, it dawned on me that it has certainly been a while since I had the opportunity to do that. Two whole weeks have passed since the True Northers last took to the ice on February 7th. I’m just going to have to shake off the rust and do my best to get back to my “A” game, much like the majority of NHL players will have to…lol.

Winnipeg Signs Vladdy to a 2 Yr Extension!

General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff appears to have put the two week break to good use, working out a new contract for forward Vladislav Namestnikov. News has broken that the Winnipeg Jets have agreed to a 2 year extension with the 32 yr old veteran, keeping him in the Peg until the end of the 2026-27 NHL campaign. A two year deal giving him a raise of $1M per season, the value is definitely there…
