Well, as I'm sure you have all seen the video of James Harrison's helmet to helmet hit on Colt McCoy, I figured we could go ahead and discuss this even though it's becoming old news. If you have not see the hit, check it out:

(Go Cmt Sports Forum's official YouTube channel).

What are your thoughts on the hit? As you may also know, the punishment was a one game suspension which has now been served. What did you think of the punishment? Too harsh?

You may have also seen James Harrison's Twitter update during the Steelers @ 49ers game which had two power outages; one minutes before the game and one minutes into the second quarter. If you have not heard about it or read it, you need to read it:

If I cant play then can't nobody play... Lights out!

Pretty comical, right?

I suppose the main point of this topic isn't really even about James Harrison. It's a debate on helmet to helmet hits. Also, do you feel quarterbacks have a little too much protection now?

The NFL treats quarterbacks like fragile pottery honestly. They have all these new rules in place to keep their moneymaker players on the field as much as possible.

Opinions?

I don't think he should be suspended.

Quarterbacks are protected way too much; it's football, and they're getting payed the most to play in the least hazardous conditions.

I don't think Harrison should have been suspended. It's not really an unsportsmanlike thing (not like a Suh-type offense). Helmet-to-helmet hits will happen; it's inevitable.

I think the rules are aright, but they should make the quarterbacks tougher rather than trying to limit the defense. Helmet to helmet rules are fine with me, because they are often the cause of concussions.

As for that hit in particular, eh... It seemed like he wasn't trying to, but players (Harrison in particular) need to be more careful. They know that it's illegal, so they should probably work on avoiding it. Especially when it's guys who are as important to their team as Harrison.

As a browns fan, i have seen harrison give concussions to about 5 player in the past 3 years. He should get suspended because he is a child in a mans body.
