Fans of the Sacramento Kings are hoping for a return of the excitement they felt during the “Light the Beam” era a few seasons ago.
But is that possible with the team they have right now?
Speaking to the press, big man Domantas Sabonis gave huge praise to general manager Scott Perry and the plan he has for the Kings.
He also suggested that more adjustments are on the horizon.
So far, the Kings haven’t done much this summer, aside from losing a couple of players and adding Dennis Schroder, who has been inconsistent at best over the last several seasons.
Will he be enough to move the needle and get them back in contention in the West?
Probably not, but most people believe the Kings have more changes up their sleeves.
They have been pursuing Jonathan Kuminga, but acquiring him has been a huge headache for Sacramento, and any deal for him seems stuck in the mud.
There have also been rumors of players such as Russell Westbrook, but the Kings haven’t gotten anywhere with him either.
The Kings are probably going to do something, but will they do it this summer or later in the season when the trade deadline approaches?
Sabonis is promising that the Kings will be looking different soon, but how soon?
