Real Madrid are reportedly set to make Cristiano Ronaldo the highest-paid player in the world as they try to wrap up a new contract with the 28-year-old.

Ronaldo—who is currently making £215,000 per week according to The Sun—confirmed earlier this week that his immediate future remains with Real Madrid. He emphasized that he would not be leaving the club over the summer transfer window (per ESPN).

I was kind of hoping he would return to Manchester United, but Real Madrid is going to make him the highest-paid player in the world.

No. I believe that it was better in Manchester United than in Real Madrid. It would be great if he could return to Manchester United. Real Madrid spends a lot of money in only one player. It is not so important that Ronaldo is the highest-paid player. It would be better if he was the best football player. I learnt that he is in my country for vacation. In Greece!

As much as I hate Man United, I have to agree that Ronaldo was a much better player at Manchester United and still could have been if he had stayed.
