What do you think needs to be done with the concussions in the NHL?

Concussions seem to occur quite often in the NHL, especially with the star players that bring the fans to the arenas. I fear that the NHL will turn into the NFL when it comes to injuries and such.

Sidney Crosby didn't return to the NHL until just recently after he was away for around eleven months. After a couple games, it was noted that once again; Sidney Crosby was experiencing concussion-like symptoms. So, once again, he is out indefinitely.

Also earlier this week, Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber (one of the very few hockey players ever talked about in Tennessee) sustained a concussion in a game at Dallas.

What do you think should be done about all this?

One opinion I recently heard is that more and more are sidelined now because of the advances in knowledge regarding concussions. Nothing has changed really, before the NHL wasn't as knowledgeable, players just played through concussions.

I read a couple interesting articles that might be a good read to you:

The only way to eliminate them is to go back to floor hockey as little kids do, no sticks above the waist, and no hitting at all. Anything where a player clearly leans into a hit or leaves his feet should be automatic intent to injure and suspendable for at least a game due to dirty hit. No clear definition for intent to injure is part of the problem, simply intent to injure is leaving feet or leaning into hit. It depends on the day on what definition it is, its gotten better since Shanny took over, but still needs work.
