I made one of these in previous stay here, but I figured I'd make a new one since it's been a while.

So, if anyone wants to ask me anything, go ahead, I will answer anything. :D

Tech N9ne.

If anyone's unfamiliar with him, he's an independent rapper who founded his own label and rose to the top--now #1 independent rapper in the world with over 1.4 million records sold...Without the help of any major labels backing. He's worked with some of the legends of the game, like 2Pac, Ice Cube, Scarface, Snoop Dogg, and even does rock songs (his new album features a collab with Slipknot and possibly A7X). Currently his label has 10 acts signed to his label.

As for his rapping style, Tech packs a versatile, insane flow, amazing multi-syllabic and complex rhyme schemes, an expansive and technical vocabulary, some of the fastest speed rap ever, and is one of the best lyricists of all time... Also, everything he raps about is REAL; it's meaningful, it's deep. It's not the crap you hear on the radio nowadays where it's meaningless and just the same old same old... Drugs, b*tches, money, etc (*cough* YMCMB *Cough*)

Another huge reason I like Tech so much is he and his fellow labelmates truly care about the fans... They release music seemingly nonstop (over 15 releases scheduled for this year alone) and they go on tours year round (the Hostile Takeover Tour of 2012 was a record-breaker with 99 shows in 90 days) to bring their music to all their fans across the US in sellout shows (and oversees, the Eurotech Tour was very popular as well).

That being said, I listen to around 200 other rappers regularly, and have many other favorites, but Tech is my overall.

I'm familiar with a few of his songs... I can think of "Everybody Move" and "Worldwide Choppers" off the top of my head.

Any of his songs/albums you could recommend? I'll definitely have to check him out some more.

(Prepare for epically long post... ;) )

Well, I'd say his most famous songs are Caribou Lou, Am I A Psycho?, Riot Maker, I'm A Playa, Like Yeah, Einstein, Bout Ta Bubble, Worldwide Choppers, He's A Mental Giant and Imma Tell but those are not necessarily his best work, although they are all very good songs. :)

Red Nose is a good track that represents the struggle he's faced his entire career; he says "Nothing is worse than knowing you're beautiful but treated like an ugly duckling", in reference to his superior skill yet people still don't recognize him as much as they should and some even reject him.

Alone is very new song and one of more sad, serious songs about how lonely he feels despite his newfound fame (as he is getting finally starting to get more recognition now). It also features his labelmate Krizz Kaliko, an excellent singer with amazing range, and a more poetic-style verse by an underground rapper named Eric "Ezikuhl" Boone.

He's A Mental Giant is a great display of his insane lyricsim and incredibly complex, multi-syllabic and technical rhymes and lightning speed delivery. Insanity!

Mama Nem is a song Tech dedicated to his mother. He actually dedicated his whole album, K.O.D. (acronym for King of Darkness) to her, which was a very dark, serious album. She has a hard life having suffered from lupus, epilepsy, diabetes and pancreatitis and Tech made this song in her honor.

This Ring is one of Tech's earlier works written over 10 years ago but by many considered his best-written song. It focuses on his marital problems and how music affects his life.

Don't Tweet This is a party track but nevertheless it's still a good song. It's not your average party track with the same old boring lyrics and repetitive rhymes because it's Tech N9ne!

Dysfunctional features Krizz Kaliko and another Strange Music artist named Big Scoob. One of my favorite songs and collaborative tracks ever.

One Good Time is Tech's song where he discusses how all the bad things he's dealt with in life is building up in him and he asks if he can have one good time, one good cry to let all the pain out.

I could post many many more but I'll cut it short here. This was off the top of my head and there's are tons of other great songs by Tech that I may have forgotten or not posted but this should help introduce you. :D

Awesome, thanks! :D I heard "Am I a Psycho?" the other day, it's pretty great. I'll check out some more from him.

For the sake of asking a question: Who's the most overrated artist, in your opinion?

Easily Lil Wayne. Him and the majority of the artists on his label get so much attention when they have so little talent.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Do you like Kid Cudi?

Not a huge fan, but I certainly prefer him over many other more mainstream rappers. :P

If you don't like Lil Wayne, what do you think of Eminem? :P

Eminem is definitely one of the top lyricists of all time. I feel like he's declined a bit with his past couple releases; hopefully he will make up for it with his new LP coming this year. :)
