49ers sign Jacobs

According to a source, the San Francisco 49ers have signed former-Giants RB Brandon Jacobs to a 1-year deal.

Jacobs will join former-Giant Mario Manningham in San Francisco, Manningham signed with the 49ers last week.

Midway through last season, Jacobs said he was unhappy with his role in New York and didn't think he'd be back next season, but after the Giant's Superbowl win, he said he wanted to stay with the Giants.

Brandon Jacobs and Frank Gore could be a great duo...both really tough runners.

Brandon Jacobs seems to be one of those players that trash talks, but he personally doesn't put up very good results. He isn't that great. I doubt his role is going to be too much different in San Fransisco, so I don't think much as changed, but he is going to be with Mario Manningham, and Frank Gore is a much better running back to have a backup role to compared to Ahmad Bradshaw. Also, I'm pretty sure Frank Gore has had injury issues in the past, so you never know, Brandon Jacobs could be the top running back for a few games.
