Latest Odds Show Betting Favorite To Land Lauri Markkanen

The Utah Jazz shocked just about everyone earlier this week when it was revealed that they are open to the idea of trading Lauri Markkanen.

Just a year ago, it seemed like nothing would convince the Jazz to move him, but now they are warming up to the concept.

So, if Markkanen leaves Utah, where will he go?

According to Bovada, per NBACentral, the Golden State Warriors have the best shot of acquiring Markkanen.

They hold +205 odds, followed by the Miami Heat with +250, the Orlando Magic with +325, the Dallas Mavericks with +450, and the San Antonio Spurs with +650.

The Warriors are the favorites to land Lauri Markkanen in a potential trade, per @BovadaOfficial

The Warriors reportedly wanted Markkanen before the recent trade deadline, so it’s not surprising to see them on this list.

They would definitely work hard to try and trade for Markkanen, but they would have to give up a lot to get him.

In fact, all of these teams would have to do a lot if they want Markkanen, because the Jazz have made it clear that they will ask for quite the haul in exchange for him.

But, has their stance changed after another disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs?

Markkanen isn’t the only Jazz player who could be leaving the team this summer, which means the front office is apparently finally ready to shake up the roster in big ways.

So, their insistence on always driving a hard bargain could be changing.

Still, Markkanen will come with a hefty asking price, so any team attempting to get him has to keep that in mind.

Who has the most to offer and, therefore, the best chance of getting him?

Bill Simmons Reveals What He’s Hearing About Jazz, Lauri Markkanen

Utah Jazz v Brooklyn Nets

Lauri Markkanen has been a vital part of the Utah Jazz since coming to the team in 2022-23.

For a time, it seemed like he was untouchable and the front office would never move him.

Has that position softened after multiple seasons of disappointment for Utah?

According to Bill Simmons, per NBACentral, there is “belief around the league” that the Jazz are “open” to listening to trade offers for Markkanen.

If that’s true, it could shake up this offseason in a huge way.

Last season, Markkanen put up 19.0 points and 5.9 rebounds for his Jazz.

He was only in 47 games and didn’t get as much attention as in previous seasons, partly because the Jazz were so dreadful.

There is no doubt that Markkanen is a talented young player who could make a huge difference for a bunch of teams.

Because of that, the Jazz will not go easy in any potential trade negotiations.

They have repeatedly shown that they drive a hard bargain, and they will stick to their demands.

Any team that wants Markkanen will have to work for him, and there is no guarantee that the Jazz will agree to anything.

They have the upper hand, and they will wait for the right deal.

Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors have had their eyes on Markkanen for years.

Will this summer be their best chance at acquiring him, and what will it cost them?

How real is this rumor from Simmons?

Will other teams pick up the phone and find out?

The Jazz have held tightly to Markkanen for several years, but they might be willing to let go, for the right price.

Jazz Reportedly Discussed A Trade For Sixers Star

Cleveland Cavaliers v Utah Jazz

What are the Utah Jazz doing?

After years of sticking with the roster they have, despite little success, the team is finally rumored to be making trades.

A new report from Andy Larsen, via Legion Hoops, makes it clear that the Jazz may have big plans for the summer.

Apparently, the Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers have discussed a trade that would send Paul George to Utah.

The specifics of this trade aren’t known, but it would easily be one of the biggest of the offseason.

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) June 18, 2025

George could send back quite a package to the 76ers.

Would Philadelphia be able to convince Utah to send them Lauri Markkanen or perhaps Walker Kessler?

Or maybe they have their sights set on John Collins.

George’s latest season was a troubled one, which may have harmed his trade value.

He could never get fully healthy and didn’t look like his regular self when he was on the court.

He ended 2024-25 with an average of 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists on 43.0 percent from the field.

The bigger story here is that the Jazz really are open to trades this year.

That is a difference from the last few years, and now fans are wondering just how drastic they will be.

Markkanen, Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and more could be leaving Utah, and the team could be totally changed in a few months.

Even if this George deal doesn’t happen, the Jazz might be transforming.

As for the 76ers, is this a sign that they are done with George, despite other reports saying they want to rely on him for at least one more season?

There is now a lot of speculation around both teams.

Details Emerge About Possible Landing Spot For Collin Sexton

Utah Jazz v Atlanta Hawks

(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Collin Sexton has spent three seasons with the Utah Jazz, but his time with the team may be coming to an end.

If Sexton does leave the Jazz, where will he land?

According to Andy Larsen, per NBACentral, the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as a possible landing spot for Sexton.

(h/t @All_Things_Mavs ) pic.twitter.com/uYydTKM5Oi

— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) June 18, 2025

In 2024-25, Sexton averaged 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game on 48.0 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from the three-point line.

He comes with a skill set that would help the Mavericks, especially next season.

It’s not clear just how much they will get out of Kyrie Irving, who will likely still be recovering from a serious injury for much of the year.

Therefore, they are looking for guard assistance, and Sexton could bring that.

Additionally, he could be a reliable backup guard if Irving’s recovery goes according to plan and he’s able to play a lot in 2025-26.

Sexton has been a loyal player for his two NBA teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz.

He has repeatedly shown that he is someone who can show up and will fight hard, even if he doesn’t catch as many headlines as other guards throughout the league.

He has one year left on his contract, so the Mavericks wouldn’t have a tough time affording him.

All in all, there are a lot of upsides to adding Sexton, which is why Dallas may get competition for him.

If the Jazz are looking to cut Sexton loose, a few teams might pick up the phone and give them a call.

2 Teams Are Reportedly Looking To Trade Into Top-5 Of NBA Draft

2024 NBA Draft - Round One

With the NBA draft beginning on Wednesday night, a number of teams are weighing their options and putting together game plans that may help them have better luck.

Two teams are apparently trying to climb higher in the draft order.

According to Evan Sidery, the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards are “two teams to monitor for potential small trade-ups within the top-five.”

“Both the Sixers and Hornets appear open to trading back, which opens the door if Utah or Washington covet a certain prospect,” Sidery wrote.

The Jazz are the fifth pick in the draft, and the Wizards are right behind them in sixth place.

If they are able to get these deals done, they probably wouldn’t move up much, but they could make small changes, especially if the Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets really are willing to give their picks away.

What do the Jazz and Wizards have in mind, and what are they attempting to do?

Are they trying to land one of the young rookies in the lineup, or are they attempting to get better picks so they can trade them for win-now talent?

The Wizards have been busy over the last day, but the Jazz have been very silent.

However, there have been many rumors of both teams doing a lot more in the hours and days ahead.

Is this the start of a very impactful and consequential period for these two teams?

The draft always has a few surprises, and sometimes they happen at the last minute.

People are paying close attention to the Jazz and Wizards to see what they do next.

Analyst Praises 2 Jazz Draft Picks

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 25: Ace Bailey (R) shakes hands with NBA commissioner Adam Silver (L) after being drafted fifth overall by the Utah Jazz during the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft at Barclays Center on June 25, 2025 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The Utah Jazz just landed two of the most promising players in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

First, they rolled the dice on Ace Bailey, perhaps the most controversial among high-end prospects.

Then, they landed Walter Clayton Jr.

That’s why Matt Norlander of CBS Sports believes they added the two best tough-shot makers in the entire class.

“Utah drafted the two best tough shot-makers in the entire draft,” Norlander said.

He gushed about both of those players’ abilities to finish through contact and make breathtaking buckets despite having no clear look at the rim.

Even so, the Jazz’s draft night didn’t come without risk and controversy.

There were multiple reports about Ace Bailey not wanting to play for them.

He refused to work out for them, and he certainly didn’t look happy when the Jazz took him.

Some NBA scouts and even players believe that Bailey is the most talented player in this class.

Nevertheless, he’s also quite raw.

Playing in Utah will allow him to grow through his mistakes without any rush or pressure, as they’re still going through a rebuild, and they will give him as many touches as he needs to develop.

He has to improve his shot selection and become a more consistent defender, but he has the physical tools to be one of the best three-level scorers in the game a couple of years from now.

As for Clayton, he will have plenty of competition for minutes in the backcourt, but given his toughness and high basketball IQ, he should be in the running to be the starting point guard.

Insider Names 3 Realistic Trade Suitors For Collin Sexton

Utah Jazz v Atlanta Hawks

(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

The Utah Jazz have been pretty silent over the last few years during the offseason, but that may change this summer.

There have been dozens of rumors about them trading away players, including some of their biggest stars.

Collin Sexton might be on the move, and, according to Jake Weinbach, there are several potential suitors for him.

Weinbach said the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat “should be regarded as the most realistic trade suitors” for the 26-year-old star.

The Timberwolves, Lakers, and Heat should be regarded as the most realistic trade suitors for Collin Sexton.

Sexton averaged 18.4 points per game on 48% shooting and 40.6% from 3 last season. The 26-year-old guard will be a popular trade candidate during these next few weeks.

— Jake Weinbach (@JWeinbachNBA) June 27, 2025

Last season, Sexton put up 18.4 points, on 48 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from the three-point line.

Those numbers are a bit down from what he produced during most of his years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but consistent when compared to the season before.

Sexton could be an attractive pickup for a number of teams beyond the three that Weinbach listed.

The Jazz will want to get something good in return for him.

How seriously are they considering shipping Sexton away?

Utah has made a habit of thinking about trading players without actually doing it.

Therefore, this might result in teams attempting to sign him but getting nowhere.

What other Jazz stars could be leaving Utah this summer?

There have been whispers about Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler finally being on the trade block, but some people aren’t getting their hopes up.

The Jazz could backtrack and decide they don’t want to part ways with any of these stars.

But if they are ready to lose Sexton, these three teams will immediately become frontrunners to get him.

Insider Reveals Major Update About Ace Bailey, Jazz

2025 NBA Draft - Content Circuit, Media Availability and Portraits

The Utah Jazz chose Ace Bailey earlier this week in the NBA draft, putting an end to weeks of speculation and stories about the young player and his place in the league.

There were reports of Bailey not wanting to initially play for the Jazz, but that is where he ended up.

However, is that where he will stay?

Speaking on ESPN, Shams Charania made it clear that Bailey isn’t going anywhere and will be suiting up with the Jazz in the fall.

“The Jazz are not going to be trading Ace Bailey. If he’s playing in the NBA, he’s playing for the Utah Jazz,” Charania said.

— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) June 27, 2025

Bailey’s road to the NBA was complicated.

He was one of the most promising young prospects in the league, but he made things harder on himself because of the way he and his management team handled the draft.

Bailey refused to do any workouts with teams, making him the only American player who didn’t suit up on a practice court.

He also apparently only wanted to play for a few teams, ideally one of the East Coast that would let him start right away.

In the end, it was the Jazz who got him.

The Jazz might have a spot for him in the starting rotation, but they are a long way from the East Coast.

Still, following the draft, Bailey sounded happy about where he landed.

Will he still seem happy in the months ahead?

The Jazz will try to rebound next season and climb higher in the Western Conference standings.

Bailey will be a part of that because he is clearly staying in Utah.

Ace Bailey Admits He Was Surprised About Jazz Drafting Him

2025 NBA Draft - Round One

It was a long, complicated road to the NBA draft for Ace Bailey, but now he finally has a team: the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz selected Bailey as the fifth pick in the draft, surprising many people, including him.

Speaking to the press, via Bleacher Report, Bailey said he had no idea the Jazz wanted him, but he sounded excited and ready to get started.

Ace Bailey says he had “no idea” Jazz were going to draft him 5th overall

— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) June 26, 2025

Bailey has been one of the biggest question marks of this year’s draft.

He was the only American player to not participate in any workouts, and he was very demanding about where he wanted to play.

In fact, he had said that the Jazz were not one of his preferred destinations.

That ultimately didn’t matter because the team saw something that they liked in Bailey, and they were willing to take a risk with him.

He might pan out, or he could be a mistake, but they are willing to find out.

Bailey has strong shotmaking abilities and is known for his size.

But he also has room to improve, so the Jazz will want to take their time developing him.

Bailey had stated that he wished to play for a team that would give him a starting role right away.

Is that what he will get in Utah, or will it take time before he’s leading the team?

He sounded excited on Wednesday night, even if he was surprised.

Now starts the hard work that may or may not lead to a long and fruitful NBA career.

Details Emerge About Jordan Clarkson’s Trade Market Interest

Toronto Raptors v Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have started their offseason moves, and everyone is wondering what they will do.

They might trade away a few stars, including Jordan Clarkson.

But new reporting from Andy Larsen, via NBACentral, said that Clarkson is receiving “next to no interest” on the current trade market.

Does that mean he will stay in Utah, or will the Jazz find a suitable and willing trade partner to work with?

Jordan Clarkson is receiving ‘next to no interest’ on the trade market, per @andyblarsen pic.twitter.com/2a1aPUSwtp

— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) June 30, 2025

Last season, Clarkson put up 16.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on 40.8 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from the three-point line.

That was his sixth season in Utah, where he has become a permanent fixture and an important part of the lineup.

Clarkson has been in the league for 11 seasons now and won Sixth Man of the Year back in 2020-21.

He’s a proven player and can be a huge help for a number of teams, so why aren’t more franchises interested in him?

Perhaps it’s his salary, or maybe others just don’t see the need for a guard like Clarkson.

Whatever the reason, the Jazz might have to get creative if they really want to part ways with him.

Clarkson has just one more year left on his contract, coming in at a bit more than $14 million.

Will any other team be willing to take on that sum, or will they demand that the Jazz do more than just send him?

How can Utah sweeten the deal and attract potential trade partners?

A few years ago, it seemed like Clarkson had several places he could go, but the list of possible new homes has dwindled, and the Jazz have to figure that out.
