In one of my classes, we are doing a debate in Lincoln-Douglas Debate format. We have partners. My partner and I chose the topic immigration. Well, it basically is whether or not immigration to the United States should be legal or not and what are the benefits of allowed immigration. I am going to need some help to out due my partner in this debate, so all help is appreciated. I can only have three main points. So, basically 3 reasons why it is beneficial. So, what are your thoughts on immigration in the United States? Should immigration be legal? What are the pros and cons of allowing immigration to the United States?

Advantage: You can be with your family again or earn money.
Disadvantage: The population in America will increase and jobs will be loss due to taxes.

You can't really say that the population in America will increase as there are advantages and disadvantages to that as well. Also, I mean advantages and disadvantages for the country that allows immigration, not the immigrants.

Thats true never thought of it

Immigration positively affects the United States of America, because it could be helpful in the decreasing of our national debt, cultural diversity, and the views shared by others internationally of the United States. Our founding fathers built this country on the principles of immigration, they felt it was positively affecting the United States. In our family history, we were all immigrants at one point in time. We came to America looking for happiness, opportunities, etc. Why would we deny immigrants that right to come here looking for happiness, opportunities, etc?

Was it fun for you? It was actually pretty fun. I totally owned my partner, and I got an A. ;D

It should be legal and it benefits the states as Immigration fuels the economy. When immigrants enter the labor force, they increase the productive capacity of the economy and raise GDP.

Immigration benefits the US by supplying the country with low-cost labor.
Dont overlook that these immigrants end up spending in the US, thus boosting local businesses.
