What's so special about Wrestling?

I grew up on wrestling and still enjoy it. It was not until I was about 14 that I was told that it was fake. All my friends told me that it was, but I failed to believe them.

I guess that it has to do partly with how you were raised also, as that is a big factor for me to this very day.

I am actually baffled my the lack of intelligence in some of these posts, if you fall off of a ladder through a table and break your collar bone than is it fake then? In Professional Wrestling, you'll come across competitors that botch a move and it literally costs them their life, and people like professional wrestling for the same reason that they enjoy watching a movie because they're going to be entertained. It's not a couple of guys hugging one another upon throwing a few punches to conclude a fight, and it's not done once every year like you'll with UFC or Mixed Martial Arts. Truly, it's done each and every week and those competitors risk their lives inside of that ring, I watch it for the compelling storylines and establishment of meaning within characters, people will cheer the New York Yankees, why? Just because they're a good team? That's boring, the competitors have pzazz to them and actually develop reasons to care, essentially professional wrestling is an action movie except for the fact that they perform their own stunts and there is actual danger involved. I know that I may have come across a little bit harsh but I feel that people insulting professional wrestling strictly because it's scripted and pre-determined are just being disrespectful and know absolutely nothing about what they're saying because if they did they'd realize that it's sports entertainment, very solemnly do they try to call themselves real, you don't go to the movies and expect people to REALLY kill each other, it's entertainment, grow up.

I might have liked wrestling, but it's so fake.

Ever notice how the camera angle constantly changes? It obviously can't be real.

I watch it just because it's funny to see how fake it is. It's hilarious to see one guys foot miss the other guys head by a couple of inches and the crowd going "Ohhhh what a kick!"

I love to watch professional wrestling because of its entertainment. It also offers mental relaxation, help one with escaping reality, and engaging with a performance that mirrors the complexities of life
