News Wild Team Notes

Interesting collection of articles here. The Wallstedt situation is definitely one to watch closely.

Gotta say, it feels a bit premature to be shopping a goalie prospect who was legitimately in Calder conversation territory at midseason. The kid clearly has talent, and goaltenders often take longer to develop than skaters. That said, I understand the logic if Gustavsson has locked down the starter role and management sees an opportunity to address other needs.

The O'Reilly or Wright return possibilities are intriguing. Wright still has upside as a former top pick who maybe just needed a change of scenery, and O'Reilly brings that veteran playoff experience. Either could help the Wild depending on what direction they want to go.

Montreal and Ottawa both make sense as landing spots given their goaltending uncertainty. If I'm Guerin though, I'd want to make sure we're getting fair value. Elite goalie prospects don't grow on trees, and Wallstedt has shown he can handle NHL minutes.

The shootout win against Chicago was nice to see. Always good to grab those extra points against division rivals, even if the Blackhawks aren't exactly world-beaters right now.

What's everyone's take on potentially moving Wallstedt? Worth it if the return is right, or should they hold onto him as insurance?
