Cowboys 2026 NFL Draft: Updated picks list after Quinnen Williams trade

imagn-26045387.jpg

The Dallas Cowboys made two moves before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline and acquired Logan Wilson from the Cincinnati Bengals as well as Quinnen Williams from the New York Jets. They certainly improved the defense.

Things have been a bit wonky for the Cowboys from an NFL draft perspective ever since trading away Micah Parsons as that gave them an additional first-round pick in 2026. The Cowboys still hold those multiple firsts, but the rest of their picks look a bit strange and we have put together an updated list to catch you up.

Dallas Cowboys Draft Picks, 2026 NFL Draft

  • 1st
  • 1st (Green Bay’s)
  • 4th
  • 5th
  • 7th (Kansas City’s)

Tuesday saw the Cowboys deal away their second-round pick (for Quinnen Williams) and a seventh-rounder (for Wilson) which left them with two selections in the first round and three on the third day of the draft. Recall that Dallas sent their third-round pick to the Steelers back in the offseason to acquire George Pickens.

With things stabilizing for the Cowboys this is now what we know they will have to work with in the spring. How do you feel about it all?

Cowboys vs. Cardinals Stock Report: Cowboys franchise seems to reach new low

gettyimages-2244877294.jpg

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Arizona Cardinals. At just about no point in the game on Monday night were the Cowboys competitive. All the worst fears and speculations were realized in the manners in which we predicted in our worst thoughts and the cruelest part of it all is that none of us are surprised.

The season carries life in a technical sense, but it effectively ended on Monday night. The bye week will force us to dwell on this for a long time which is just great.

Here is our Stock Report from the Cardinals loss.

Stock Down: Jerry Jones

The Cowboys owner, president, and general manager made sure to feed ESPN and their content machine in the lead up to, during, and after this game. He appeared on Stephen A. Smith’s show to tease a trade that we later found out to be Logan Wilson, hosted Smith in his suite that was shown during the game, and continued to insist that the team would be in the mix during his postgame comments. That wound up being true by way of Quinnen Williams.

Is there anyone who enjoys all of this? The Williams trade is exciting, but the circus is exhausting. At one point in time it certainly had a bit of intrigue, but these off-the-field things just weigh everything down and that all starts with Jerry Jones. We all know this. I am not saying anything new.

Do you remember in Space Jam when the Monstars threatened to shackle Michael Jordan for all of his life so that everyone who wanted could play him one-on-one and humiliate him? And that this would be how he would spend all of his days?

That is life for the Dallas Cowboys in modern times.

Stock Down: Matt Eberflus

We are at a point where it is unfair to blame Matt Eberflus entirely, but the defense is so bad and historically inept that we have to keep pointing at least one of the fingers here.

There are debates to be had about whether or not Jacoby Brissett is the best quarterback on the Cardinals roster. Fine. But being so woefully unprepared and unable to do anything mid-game is alarming. Having a fourth defensive coordinator in as many years would not be ideal, but hard conversations have to be had here.

Stock Down: Brian Schottenheimer

Brian Schottenheimer is in a no-win situation. That being said, he had his team incredibly unprepared for a game against a 2-5 team. His squad got bullied and pushed around (and made fun of with Cardinals’ player comments that were heard on microphones).

He preaches toughness and tenacity, but the group seemed more than willing to fold at the first opportunity. For the first time this season the Cowboys looked disinterested. That is a Brian Schottenheimer issue.

Stock Down: Dak Prescott

This was not a good game from Dak Prescott. That is stating the obvious. He certainly seemed to give things his best effort and was on the move thanks to an offensive line that was getting beat, but he is in a position where he has to find a way. That is the request.

Things were looking great for Prescott prior to the Denver game. Unfortunately he has had his worst two-game stretch in some time.

Stock Down: George Pickens

The taunting penalty that he drew was incredibly light. It stinks that the NFL calls that kind of thing. But rules are rules. George Pickens knows them.

For the first eight games of the season he had avoided any kind of discussion like this, but drawing a penalty like that when the team was trying to mount a comeback (an improbable one to be clear) simply cannot happen.

Stock Down: Jake Ferguson

This was a really tough game for Jake Ferguson. At one point in the first half he had a holding penalty that wiped out a big gain and then almost immediately after had a consequential fumble that felt like the moment where things really went sideways for the Cowboys. He had such a stellar run this season for a while, but he will probably want this one back.

Stock Down: DaRon Bland

DaRon Bland was awful against the Cardinals. Awful is not a strong enough word. We all saw him fall down after Marvin Harrison Jr. got the best of him. It was a complete and total disaster. Bland’s overall future with the team is still bullish. But this was rough.

Stock Down: Kenneth Murray

There is not much to add here to the fact that the Cowboys traded for Logan Wilson on Tuesday morning. This marks two linebackers that have been acquired by way of trade in the 2025 NFL season which suggests that the first one (Murray) was a mistake.

Stock Down: Brandon Aubrey

I do not want to blame someone for missing a 68-yard field goal, but he did and that’s why he’s here. That’s all. Blah.

Stock Down: Everything and everyone

Things feel incredibly down with the Cowboys right now. They are still trying to recover from their 2023 Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers. Overall the franchise is in a really dark place. There are eight games left this season, the part of the year that we all collectively enjoy the most, and that feels like a punishment.

When will it be fun again? At what point will this nightmare end? Tuesday’s trades suggest a commitment to the future not being this way, but that doesn’t change the reality of the moment.

Cowboys trade news: Dallas pursued Quincy Williams in Quinnen Williams deal

gettyimages-1408997128.jpg

The Dallas Cowboys traded for defensive tackle Quinnen Williams on Tuesday, and in the process provided a lot of interest and intrigue for both the short- and long-term of their franchise.

It took a 2026 second, 2027 first (the better between the two Dallas has of their own and Green Bay’s from the Micah Parsons trade), and Mazi Smith to get the deal done, but Williams is a Cowboy.

The aftermath of the trade deadline is always interesting as everyone involved starts to get a sense of things with dust having settled. The New York Jets are clearly rebuilding towards a different kind of future as they also dealt Sauce Gardner away in sending him to the Indianapolis Colts for multiple first-round picks.

The Cowboys also reportedly wanted Quincy Williams

The trade deadline aftermath is also interesting in terms of what we learn about the deals that happened as well as those that did not. Given that the Cowboys pulled off two deals on Tuesday it is hard to imagine what else they may have been working on, but Wednesday morning offered an answer there.

Quinnen Williams is getting all of the attention as one of the league’s best defenders, but the Cowboys traded for former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson much earlier on Tuesday. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Cowboys were looking to land both Quinnen and Quincy Williams from the Jets, and when they could not get the latter, they ultimately pivoted to Wilson and Cincinnati.

Graziano: I heard that at one point the Cowboys were talking to the Jets about a deal that would have sent Dallas both Williams brothers — Quinnen and linebacker Quincy Williams. But that didn’t work out, and the Cowboys pivoted to former Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.

Quinnen and Quincy Williams are indeed brothers if you have any confusion. It would have been quite the deal to see Dallas acquire them both. I can’t imagine that there has ever been an instance of brothers being traded from one NFL team to another in the same transaction.

This detail may shed some light on the confusion that surrounded Jerry Jones’ comments on Monday prior to the Cowboys game against the Arizona Cardinals. Jerry went on Stephen A. Smith’s show and noted that the Cowboys were going to have a trade announced on Tuesday (the day after their Monday night game) and that things were still in the process of full development. Brian Schottenheimer confirmed on Tuesday that Logan Wilson was the player in question.

FWIW: Brian Schottenheimer confirmed that the trade the Cowboys had in place yesterday — the one Jerry Jones talked about — was for LB Logan Wilson.

— Joseph Hoyt (@JoeJHoyt) November 4, 2025

Maybe, spitballing here, Jerry was working the trades for Quinnen and Quincy and the latter fell through which led to the pivot or something else along those lines. Who knows.

Would you have rather Dallas landed Quinnen’s brother Quincy, or Logan Wilson as a result?

It was reported on Thursday morning that Marshawn Kneeland tragically died at the age of 24.

As details unfolded in the aftermath, it was reported that Kneeland died by suicide as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This is a horrific and unspeakable tragedy. Kneeland was just 24 years old. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown just this past Monday night for all the world to see. There is no way to convey how devastating this news is.

Marshawn Kneeland passes away at age 24 – Nick Eatman, DallasCowboys.com

Rest in peace Marshawn Kneeland.

The Cowboys woke up Thursday morning to the worst news imaginable, learning of the tragic death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.
The organization issued a statement at 8:35 a.m. on Kneeland’s passing:
“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”
Kneeland, just 24 years of age, was in the middle of his second season with the team. He just scored his first career touchdown three days ago in the Monday Night loss to the Cardinals when he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.
A second-round pick (56th overall) out of Western Michigan, Kneeland had played in seven of nine games this year, recording one sack and 15 tackles and six QB pressures.
As a rookie in 2024, Kneeland missed six games due to injury, but still played in 11 games with one start.

Those who knew Cowboys’ Marshawn Kneeland remember hard worker, infectious smile – Joseph Hoyt, DMN

From those who knew him.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Marshawn,” former Western Michigan coach Tim Lester, now the offensive coordinator at Iowa, said in a statement. “He was a great teammate and a joy to coach. His smile, work ethic, and heart touched so many.”

The latter part of Lester’s statement was something shared by many on Thursday. If Kneeland’s on-field trademark was his work ethic, then his off-field one was his smile. It was infectious. It was energetic.

“The first thing you think of when we first got him in the ‘24 draft, at rookie minicamp, he was immediately just a fantastic energy,” said former Cowboys special teams coach John Fassel, who spent last year with Kneeland. “You could tell there was great leadership qualities. And these aren’t things you just say after someone passes. These are things that are real and I would say about him right now if he just had a great game and was still around. He was magnetic with his personality, where he was hard-working and tough, and it was just a fantastic combination of all the right things. Which makes this honestly even more tragic, just because of the person that he was.”

“I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field,” his agent, Jonathan Perzley, wrote. “To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words.”

Cooper Rush calls Brian Schottenheimer right coach for Cowboys after tragedy – Randy Gurzi, SI.com

Brian Schottenheimer is the man for the job according to Cooper Rush.

It will be hard for teammates to focus on their job while dealing with the emotions, but one former Cowboy says the franchise is in good hands. Cooper Rush, who started eight games at quarterback for Dallas in 2024, said there might not be anyone better than head coach Brian Schottenheimer to lead them through this.
“With Schotty, there’s probably not another better guy for that horrible situation in that organization. He can handle that in terms of how he talks to his players and cares for them because of the people-person he is. It’s unfortunate but he is the right guy for that particular job.”
Schottenheimer was a consultant for the Cowboys in 2022 before taking over as their offensive coordinator in 2023 and 2024. Rush was the backup to Dak Prescott in all three of those seasons, giving him insight on Schottenheimer.

Mailbag: Why is the offense suddenly struggling? – Tommy Yarish, DallasCowboys.com

The offense has not been great the last two weeks. Why is that?

Tommy: I think the last two weeks, it’s been a struggle to hold up on the offensive line against the pass rush. There’s way too many guys getting to Dak Prescott and hitting him around, which is causing a good bit of the struggles. Some of Dallas’ big plays on offense come on those long-developing plays, where Prescott needs the extra half-second or so to get the ball out so he can layer it over the defense.

Cowboys add ‘electric’ edge, ‘consistent’ corner in recent 2026 mock draft – Randy Gurzi, SI.com

The Cowboys will need to focus on the defense in the 2026 NFL draft.

Pick No. 11: David Bailey, edge, Texas Tech
Dallas beefed up their interior, but they still need help across from Donovan Ezeiruaku. They find that in Bailey, an explosive pass rusher from Texas Tech.
“Thanks to their deadline trade with the Jets, the Cowboys now have a truly elite defensive interior, with Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams,” Baumgardner wrote.
“They still need more off the edge, however. Corner could be another possibility in Round 1, but Bailey (13 sacks, 55 pressures in nine games) has been electric this season.”
Bailey has 11.5 sacks in nine games this season, and 26 in his collegiate career.

Pick No. 28, from Green Bay: Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
As much as the front seven gets criticized, the secondary has been a bigger problem for Dallas. That’s why they go for Mansoor Delane from LSU with their second pick in this mock.
“The Cowboys obviously don’t have Micah Parsons anymore, so we’ll see how this new-look defensive front works out. As mentioned, though, Dallas is in great position to make serious improvements via the draft,” Baumgardner wrote.
“Delane has been one of the few consistently bright spots for LSU this year.”

NFC East update: Cowboys need help during bye

gettyimages-2244882930.jpg

Editor Note: We’re all still processing the tragic passing of Marshawn Kneeland. You can view the reported details of what happened here, and we will cover any news-worthy developments down the road if there are any. If you are struggling with any mental health issues, visit here for resources to help. We are now returning to our regular coverage of the Dallas Cowboys season.

The Eagles didn’t have to lift a finger during their Week 9 bye to tighten their grip on the NFC East. Now the Cowboys get their week off and could really use some help from an old friend, and a longtime foe, as they look to come out of the break closer to the division leaders.

While Philly rested last week, Dallas, Washington, and New York all took losses. The Cowboys were humiliated at home by the previously 2-5 Arizona Cardinals. The Commanders’ season probably ended against the Seahawks, falling to 3-6 and maybe losing QB Jayden Daniels for significant time with an elbow injury. And the Giants put up a decent fight against the 49ers, but ultimately, and unsurprisingly, lost.

With Washington seemingly done for, and Dallas now several games back, the Eagles could soon have a second-straight division title wrapped up. They would be the first repeat NFC Champions since 2004, the last of four consecutive seasons when Philly held the crown during the Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb era.

Here are the NFC East standings going into Week 10:

If the Cowboys are going to get much-needed assistance in narrowing the gap with Philly, it’ll have to come from Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles head to Lambeau Field for Monday Night Football, easily the toughest on-paper matchup left on their schedule. This potential NFC Championship Game preview will have lots to watch, and Dallas fans will be keenly interested in how Parsons fares against his former division rivals.

Washington gets no relief from an increasingly painful season, now having to host the Detroit Lions. They’ll be fired up after a narrow loss to the Vikings last week, and Daniels’ absence should make the Commanders fairly easy prey.

The Giants are headed to Chicago this week, with the Bears going 5-1 in their last six games. While QB Jaxson Dart is giving New York good feelings for the future, the team just isn’t able to compete in 2025. It could be a trap game for Chicago, though, as they have a division battle with the Vikings in Week 11.

Cowboys news: Donovan Ezeiruaku’s career off to fast start

gettyimages-2235813987.jpg

Cowboys rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku having dominant start to career – Tyler Reed, Sports Illustrated

Donovan Ezeiruaku is showing that he could be one of the steals of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys’ defense has been the talk of the season for obvious reasons. Time and time again, they have proven to be one of the worst units in the league.
However, not everything has been bad within the unit. If you watched the team’s primetime matchup with the Arizona Cardinals this past week, you may have noticed one defensive unit was playing their tails off.

That unit was the defensive line. It truly felt like the Cowboys’ pass rush was in the backfield on every snap.

One of the biggest reasons behind the strong play from the pass rush has been the play of rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku.

In the loss to the Cardinals on Monday night, Ezeiruaku picked up his third sack of the season. The rookie was also in the backfield all game long.

It’s been a strong start for the former Boston College star, and his numbers back it up. Per CowboysMuse, Ezeiruaku is tied for first in sacks, second in tackles for loss, and first in forced fumbles among all rookies in the league.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys teammates mourn loss of Marshawn Kneeland – Tommy Yarrish, DallasCowboys.com

Rest in peace Marshawn Kneeland.

FRISCO, Texas – The entire Dallas Cowboys organization and the NFL football community continue to mourn the tragic loss of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.
Throughout the course of the day of his passing, Kneeland’s teammates showed outpourings of support and messages on social media to Kneeland and his family, as well as the importance of checking in on mental health with yourself and your loved ones.
“It’s been a very tough day,” QB Dak Prescott told CBS11 during a field dedication ceremony for him at his alma mater, Haughton High School. “It started early this morning, finding out the news. Tragic loss. I hurt. Heavy, heavy heart today. I hurt for Marshawn, I hurt for his family, I hurt for his girlfriend, I hurt for every single one of my teammates.”
“This is a pain that you don’t wish upon anybody. You wish none of us had to go through this. You wish Marshawn didn’t have to go through what he went through. Just thankful for each moment we have in this life, and don’t take it for granted, hug and love on those that you do.”

Prescott, who is an NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award winner for his efforts to help colon cancer research and mental health initiatives among other things, has been a large voice in the mental health community through his Faith, Fight, Finish foundation. Often writing “Ask 4 Help” on his wrist tape during games, Prescott echoed the message that it’s okay not to be okay.

“It’s okay to feel however you’re feeling,” Prescott said. “I’ll tell you first and foremost, I don’t always have all the answers. And today is not a day that I felt like I had answers. Triggering day for many reasons. On top of just knowing that [Prescott’s field dedication ceremony] was ahead today, and hard to balance my emotions today, and not a day that I have words other than I love you for friends and families and people who may be struggling.”

After the news of Kneeland’s passing game out, Prescott said the Cowboys had a team video call.

“That I love them…” Prescott said of his message to his teammates. “Few people that spoke did an amazing job, but as I said, it’s tell that person how I feel about them when I see them. Tough moment for this team. I feel and hurt for everybody that’s involved in this and Marshawn’s family and loved ones.”

Cowboys LB coach looking to Logan Wilson to bring this desperately-needed skill after bye – Todd Brock, Cowboys Wire

Dallas wants new linebacker Logan Wilson to tap into his ability to get turnovers.

The Cowboys have high hopes that the bye week will breathe new life into a defense that’s struggled over the first two months of the 2025 season.
The anticipated return of linebacker DeMarvion Overshown will be huge, and the immediate impact of newly-acquired defensive tackle Quinnen Williams cannot be understated.

But the Cowboys coaching staff also traded for veteran linebacker Logan Wilson at the deadline, and they’re looking for him to return to the form he displayed early in his career, especially when it comes to one key skill that has been lacking in Dallas.

“Obviously, he takes the ball away,” Cowboys linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi said of the former third-round draft pick earlier in the week. “I think he’s got the most interceptions for a linebacker in the last few years. He’s really good at that. He’s good at getting to the ball.”

Over his first four seasons, Wilson tallied 12 picks, including one in the postseason. And while he hasn’t had one since the Bengals’ 2023 finale, that figure more than doubles the combined career totals of every other linebacker on the Cowboys’ current roster.

The last interception by a Dallas linebacker? Eric Kendricks in Week 15 last season. It was one of two Kendricks nabbed on the year. Overshown got one, too, on a fluke ball that he batted up in the air and managed to catch.

Wilson, however, seems to have a longstanding knack that comes from more than luck.

“Logan did that in college,” Borgonzi said. “I think he had 10 takeaways when he was at Wyoming, so he’s been a guy that’s really done that his whole career.”

But that’s just interceptions. Wilson also had four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in college. And for a Cowboys unit that has a grand total of seven takeaways on the season (only four teams have fewer), whether in the air or on the ground, they’ll take them any way they can get them.

10 burning questions after the Qunnien Williams trade – LP Cruz, Blogging The Boys

Analyzing what’s next for the Cowboys now that Quinnen Williams is on the roster.

4. Who else was Dallas looking for?
It’s the deals that don’t get done that make you think. While Dallas picked up Logan Wilson and Williams, who else were the Cowboys looking to acquire? Rumors had the Cowboys were linked to Tennessee Titans defender Jeffrey Simmons, who stayed in Tennessee despite the Titans going nowhere this year and being in need of a complete rebuild. Minkah Fitzpatrick would have been nice to add to the Cowboys, who need help in their secondary and would have completed the three-level ensemble of linebacker, defensive tackle, and safety, but nothing formulated for Dallas. Jermaine Johnson was another player connected to Dallas, but the Jets didn’t move him, and the Cowboys opted to stand pat at edge rusher during the trade deadline.
5. Does this put the Cowboys back in the playoff chase?
Sitting at 3-5-1, the Cowboys’ chances at making the playoffs are severely in question. Dallas has a conference record of 2-4-1 and is currently out of the playoff picture. Meanwhile, three teams in the NFC West have six wins or more, including the San Francisco 49ers, whose six wins have come against the NFC. The mathematical edge isn’t in Dallas’ favor to make the postseason, even as a wild card for the moment.

Their best chance would be somehow catching the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles, who are 2.5 games ahead of Dallas. The Cowboys would have to beat the Eagles, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants to finish with a 5-1 record in the division, hope the Eagles stumble, and navigate a remaining schedule against the Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Detroit Lions.

6. Are the Cowboys done adding pieces to the defense ?

Although the trade deadline has passed, it doesn’t mean the Cowboys are done adding more to the roster. If they wanted, they could get more help for the defense still, the team has roughly $20M available in cap space per Overthecap.com. Assume the Cowboys wanted to do more for the defense, here are three players Dallas could target in mid-season free agency:

Stephon Gilmore

Stephon Gilmore has expressed that he would like to continue playing and is at home waiting for a call. Gilmore was with the Minnesota Vikings last year and started all 17 games for the Cowboys in 2023, intercepting two passes. He would be a nice fill-in with veteran leadership and not force Revel to take the field too soon.

Justin Simmons

If added, Simmons would give somebody who could play center field in the deep third of their defense and also provide run support. Hooker hasn’t been quite right this season, and so far, Dallas doesnt have enough of a sample to be sure of Juanyeh Thomas filling that role at an above average level. Simmons is only two years from removed from the 2023 season, where he earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.

Demarcus Walker

Demarcus Walker is someone who has close ties to Matt Eberflus, having played for him for the last two seasons in Chicago. Walker has tallied seven sacks in the last two seasons and could be used in multiple spots. He can rush off the edge and play as an under tackle in sub packages. If Dallas has convinced itself that 2025 isn’t over yet, it could look to inquire about these players.

Cowboys reunite with fourth-year RB on practice squad – Josh Sanchez, Sports Illustrated

Welcome back Malik Davis.

The Dallas Cowboys have been reshaping the team’s roster throughout the Week 10 bye week, largely due to the NFL trade deadline and some major acquisitions to bolster the defensive side of the ball.
Dallas swung a deal to land Cincinnati Bengals team captain and star linebacker Logan Wilson for the discount price of a seventh-round pick, while making one of the biggest splash moves at the deadline by sending a 2026 second-round NFL draft pick and a 2027 first-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Those moves are expected to play long-term dividends for the Cowboys, but they’ve also made some under-the-radar moves while playing roster gymnastics.

On Friday, the team announced it has reunited with running back Malik Davis, who was waived immediately following the trade deadline to make room for the team’s new defensive stars. Davis has been on the team’s practice squad since 2022, when he signed in Dallas as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida.

NFL insider Aaron Wilson was first to report the news.

Davis has appeared in three games for the Cowboys this season, and 18 throughout his career.

Cowboys fans place the blame for a slow start to the season

imagn-24303623.jpg

The Dallas Cowboys are on a bye before prepping for the a Monday night game against the Las Vegas Raiders, a game Dallas is currently favored by 3.5 points according to FanDuel. An NFL bye week is a good time to look back at what a team has accomplished through the first part of their season, and around the Cowboys it has been mostly disappointment. Their 3-5-1 record is uninspiring, and the belief that they can make a playoff push is diminishing rapidly.

The easiest, and most common, explanation for the Cowboys current position is that their defense is wasting a potent offense (although the offense has also sputtered recently). It’s hard to argue against that as the defense is statistically among the very worst this season in the NFL, and in franchise history also ranks very poorly.

So who is to blame? We wanted to know earlier this week who among management is most at fault. Jerry Jones, the architect of the roster and the man who traded their best defensive player, Micah Parsons? Matt Eberflus, the guy who was supposed to coach ‘em up but has only seen confusion and mistakes made? Or does it rest with the head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, who is struggling through his first go as a head coach?

To little surprise, Jerry Jones won the vote, although Eberflus at least made it interesting (65% to 32%).

Dallas_2_110625-1.png

Jones is not a popular figure among the fanbase. He has tried to resurrect this season, and provide some help going forward, by trading for Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson. Is the Cowboys fanbase buying it? Not really, as only 23% of fans think the franchise is headed in the right direction.
