The Utah Jazz have been stubborn about their roster over the last few years, but they have finally agreed to some changes.

That has led fans to wonder if other, franchise-shaking trades and choices are on the way.

All eyes will be on Lauri Markkanen in the new season, and one trusted NBA analyst believes that he will be leaving.

“I can’t imagine a scenario where Lauri Markkanen is on the Jazz in a year,” per Zach Lowe.

Markkanen is about to start his fourth season with the Jazz, but it may be his last.

If he does leave, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise because Markkanen has been the subject of rumors for more than a year now.

Other teams covet him, and they’d offer a lot to get him.

However, the Jazz have played hardball and refused to move him, instead demanding a huge, nearly impossible haul in exchange.

If they are really serious about letting him go, they will be open to more reasonable offers.

Cutting ties with Markkanen would be a massive sign from the Jazz, an indication that they are prepared to rebuild the franchise in drastic ways.

They have been toward the bottom of the Western Conference for years, and the front office might finally be ready to change that and take big risks.

Losing Markkanen wouldn’t be the only big move from them, and this trade could be the first of many dominoes to fall in Utah.

Jazz PG Is Turning Heads With Major Improvements

Most people don’t envision the Utah Jazz having a season worth remembering, but some people think they are laying the foundation for a bright and exciting future.

They have a few young players who could lead the team, including 21-year-old guard Keyonte George.

Writing on social media, Ben Anderson talked about how George has greatly improved in the new season.

“One of the areas Keyonte George has really improved is just knowing the tricks of playing the PG position. He gets guys leaning and draws fouls to get easy points at the free-throw line. High IQ stuff that is a major addition early this season,” Anderson posted on X.

The numbers confirm that Anderson is right: George is playing a much smarter form of basketball.

Last season, he attempted 4.3 free throws per game, landing 3.5 of them.

In 2025-26, those numbers have climbed to 9.0 free throw attempts with 8.3 makes.

So far this season, he is averaging 21.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 8.8 assists.

His work on the court has improved in just about every way, and he has started in all six games.

It is clear that the Jazz are noticing the work that George has done, and they want to reward him with more minutes and chances to keep getting better.

His work on the court has evolved, and it seems that he is playing with more maturity and commitment.

He is transforming into the sort of guard the Jazz might want for years to come.

If George continues to play like this, he could be in contention for Most Improved Player, which would be a huge honor for him and his young team.
