Shawn and Trey get together to provide a preview of the NBA Finals. Trey believes the Bucks will be the winners while Shawn has picked the Suns. They discuss the Bucks performance in Game 5 & 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals without Giannis and what it means for the NBA Finals. They also get into what the ideal defensive matchups would be for each team and what each team needs to do to succeed. After that, they discuss the leaked conversation between Rachel Nichols and Adam Mendelsohn that has lit the NBA Twitterverse ablaze. Stay safe wherever you are.
Marcus, Shawn and Mike got together on the weekend to record some thoughts before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. They discuss the hiring of Chauncey Billups in Portland over Dame’s preferred choice of Jason Kidd as well as what Portland needs to do with their roster. Then they get into the Jason Kidd taking the Dallas job instead and what that means. Plus, they have a possible trade that Dallas can make with Kristaps Porzingis. They also discuss the Eastern and Western Conference Finals including how the LA Clippers absolutely need Kawhi to win it all.
Shawn and Trey are joined by a special guest, Ignacio Rissotto from ID Prospects, to discuss the top International prospects of the 2021 NBA Draft. The prospects discussed include Usman Garuba, Roko Prkačin, Joshua Giddey and Alperen Şengün. Ignacio also provides us with a sleeper pick in Juhann Begarin. At the end, they all discuss the NBA Draft Lottery and how Ignacio’s favourite team, THE Detroit Pistons, have a chance to get an excellent talent in Cade Cunningham.
Shawn is joined by an injured Marcus to discuss some NBA News, the Playoffs and preview the Draft Lottery. They discuss the Blazers head coaching job and the 3 finalists for the job. Then they get into the Boston-OKC trade with Kemba Walker and Al Horford. Afterwards, they get into the problems with Ben Simmons at Philadelphia. Shawn sent out the CSC Signal and received a response from Marcus! While taking a break from the Florida sun, Marcus expresses his astonishment at Trae Young’s first playoff run. Then they get into what may be wrong with the Mavs and how the Clippers should feel barely getting out of Round 1. This leads to a discussion about how unstoppable the Nets look and that the Bucks are done. Afterwards, they finish with a discussion of Shawn’s favourite series, Suns-Nuggets.
With everything going on, Shawn and Trey had to come back to discuss an intense 24 hours of basketball play and news. They start with the incredible night that Damian Lillard had in a losing effort against the Nuggets in Game 6. This leads to a discussion of the Sixers path to the title with Embiid’s recent injury. Then they get into the bombshell that was the shake-up of the Celtics front office. Finally, they discuss the huge news out of Durham that Mike Krzyzewski will only be coaching for one more year.
Trey is back for the second time in as many days! This time he is joined by Mike Williams (frequent guest on A Ginger’s Tailgate podcast). Mike is a youth basketball coach and they discuss how he got into coaching and where he hopes to go. Then they get into their thoughts on the NBA Playoffs.
